It's confirmed that this is a feature that is coming, but we don't know anything more about this in terms of timing other than it was promised soon after launch.

Interesting. I also use UniFi and connected mine fine to my UAP-nanoHD. If you just wait, does it eventually give you an error message? How long have you waited? Did you try connecting it on the 5Ghz band instead? The first time your controller connects it will have an update to download, but it sounds like you're not reaching that point as it specifically says it is updating. Here is the general support article for setting up the controller in case anything in there might help you: https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/9578658?hl=en&ref_topic=9495415

You need to set it to Best in order to get a 4K stream. It will still drop the stream quality as needed according to what your connection quality at the time dictates regardless. Setting it to a lower quality than balanced is simply a way of capping the bitrate in case someone has concerns about data usage. Keep in mind that currently the only platform you can get a 4K stream on is via Chromecast, but support for this on other screens like the Chrome browser will be rolled out eventually.

Unfortunately USB headsets are not currently supported (for Chromecast play), but it has been mentioned that this will be added "soon". I'm in the same boat as you, as my best headsets are all self-powered USB headsets. Keep in mind that even after USB headset support is added you'll likely need to pick up a USB-C to USB-A female adapter, they're inexpensive though.

There is no downside to claiming all the games you can. I think they don't automatically claim for the simple reason that it's more fun to unlock something (and more visible to you that your library will change). As time goes on, more free titles will become claimable as they're made available provided you're still a Stadia Pro subscriber at the time.

Honestly, my general experience has been reversed. I'm having varying levels of success in Chrome across multiple different PCs all on the same network on Ethernet but my experience with the chromecast (wired) has by far been the most flawless never straying from a reported "Excellent" connection. Have you tried setting up the chromecast to use the same wireless network you said you had success with using Chrome? There could potentially be some issue with your network traffic specific to your hardwired connection related to some QoS you might not be aware of active or a misconfiguration of something like jumbo frames.

Okay I think your problems are that you didn't set up the chromecast FIRST using the Google Home app per the instructions? You have to have the Chromecast set up there prior to doing anything in the Stadia app. Once you get into Home, follow the set up devices procedure and the *Home* app will find and set up the Chromecast so it's available to Stadia.

Are you using the Chromecast that came with your controller? Even if you're on a firmware version that matches it seems there is something else that is preventing setting up on Chromecasts that you already had prior to receiving the kit. A future update should enable the "older" Chromecast Ultras to work during setup, I imagine.

You can't set up another account on the "free" tier yet, the only way to get access is through the Founder/Premiere kit. Family Sharing is coming though, but they haven't announced when or exactly how it will work. I imagine that your Google "family group" will be able to share access to one Stadia account at some point this way. Next year sometime in likely early 2020 when Stadia Base is launched you'll be able to set up other accounts without purchasing anything, however games between accounts wouldn't be shared when doing it that way so I don't think that's what you want either. Bottom line is you'll have to share the same account in the house for now until we know how Family Sharing will work.
Did you already check that Chromecast Audio is turned up in the settings (Stadia button -> Audio)? Do you still get sound when you plug a headset back into the controller?

Technically yes you can do that, but you'll have to go through the process of changing the wifi networks (or plug the chromecast in to an ethernet jack that may be available). You can change the chromecast network in the Home app. Though I've never tried it I imagine you have to go through the controller setup process using the controller icon in the Stadia app again at this point. The easier way to play anywhere right now is probably using the Chrome browser though as all you need is some form of PC running the Chrome browser.
