Its safe to say that we are not going to get any official announcement from Google when/if they upgrade/upscale their hardware for Stadia.   Now you may ask yourself, why is that? Check this interview with John Justice, skip to mark 23:14 >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnMDA_FBugU&t=752s   Please notice how the interviewer is telling John Justice the following: "You guys have 4K Streaming now, at like 30 frames... you looking to upgrade to 60 frames per second?" John Justice responds: "We can stream at 4K 60FPS now , its up to the game wether you go past".   Interesting wouldnt you say? If i were a game developer, and i could just choose between porting a game to Stadia, would i want the player to get choppy 30 FPS or smooth 60 FPS? This is a big lie, here is why: Imagine having Playstation 5 dev kit at your disposal, but the game you have created is such a demanding game, that you really need some more GPU or CPU power to reach that 60 FPS target, let say you need another 20 %. In a real situation, you would cut down the graphics, do some optimizations, and reach 60 FPS, or you would just lock the FPS to 30 and release the game.   Here is the exact same situation for Stadia dev kit: Imagine having Stadia dev kit at your disposal, but the game you have created is such a demanding title, that you really need some more GPU or CPU power to reach that 60 FPS target, let say you need another 20 %. You just ask and you shall receive, you call up Stadia Dev team, tell them to increase the GPU or CPU for your dev kit, since its in the cloud. And you gain that 20% more power needed to run your game at 60 FPS.   So what happened in this scenario? Lets say Ubisoft dev team called Stadia dev team about AC:Valhalla.   Ubisoft Dev team: We need some more juice, 20% GPU/CPU to get to 60 FPS at 4K, or 60 FPS as 1080P Ultra/High atleast.. Stadia Dev team: The number you have dialed is no longer in use.   Come on, how stupid do you think the community is? Of course the dev-kit is ALWAYS the limiter, it doesnt matter if the dev-kit is in a datacenter or infront of you, you use what resources you are provided, its not like its a 1 week port, it probably has been in the works for a very long time using the dev-kit. They twisted and turned all the knobs and the outcome is 30 FPS.   The community will not crucify you for being truthful.. just dont BS us and talk to us atleast!
I think this will be answered in 2021, focus is to expand to more datacenters to reach a bigger audience, seems unlikely they will upgrade datacenters at the moment/unleash new hardware.
With the next gen blade hardware rumors that has emerged, lets hope it turns out to be more then a rumor!

Well put in words, hope google responds to this in a near future!

Good points MisterMarcoo!   I have a feeling that Google is comfortable in their current seat, and its very obvious that the main focus the last couple of months, especially the last few weeks, has been to increase the number of games they offer on the platform. Wether its 5 indie games and 1 tripple A title its not relevant, its the number of games that speaks how successfull stadia is atm.   50 games, 25 games, 100 games.. who cares, i rather you focus on the platform, and answer the questions, dont keep us in the dark, all you need to do is to give feedback to your community!   All these games... "We have reached the 50 games mark, 100 games mark milestones"..   A direct action, triggered by the knowledge of Amazon Luna, a true competitior to Stadia on the horizon. The focus is all on expanding library, get to a bigger audience as fast as possible to stay competitive and relative. Luna doesnt offer 4K at the moment, so no need for Stadia to care about 4K, and probably wont for some time. GeforceNow is very established and also not a true 4K competitor.   Everyone loves all the stuff Stadia is implementing, some stuff long overdue, some new. But the core promise of relevant competitive hardware is yet to be delivered to the end-user.   If all games were 1080P and running on ultra settings, that would be such an improvement! I would pay for that instead of half assed game ports with up to 4K and choppy FPS..(not even true 4K and still 30FPS (RDR2 for example).
Its running 60fps on new xbox, check youtube, graphics are higher also

Still waiting on that reply from Google, keep the thread alive because if we dont speak up and let Google know about this, its just going to be another minor item on their wishlist/whiteboard.  It was layed out to us in Google Stadia Reveal video from 2019, and its been silence about this since then.   Now is the time to speak up Google, let your investors know what the roadmap plan is for this!

I totally agree with you there, and this is extremely important for Google Stadia team to understand, its not like they have millions of users on the platform, they need to listen to the already quite small user group.   Theres nothing more i would Love to do then to be able to BRAG about Stadia to my fellow friends and collagues, but when the results are in .. game after game..    Just imagine if Google Stadia had been what they said it was going to be, from start!   Imagine the PR they would have gotten for FREE! We the End-users are the best PR for their product. Now we are stuck with the service we got, and I would never recommend this to my friends, since its not competitive enough to whats out there today and tomorrow.

Thank you for your reply!   The example of Assassins Creed Valhalla, is a good example right now, however, it has been shown in other previous titles that the scaling isnt working/implemented, since games that was not next-gen titles, were not able to keep 60 FPS at close to true 4K to the end user.   Alot of people are saying that the games are running 4K 60FPS on the Stadia Platform, and its just the users that are receiving a capped 30 FPS experience in some of these titles that are abit more hardware demanding then others.   Thats like going into a Porsche, and the salesguy says you get 400 Horsepower when you buy this car, and then when you drive it afterwards you are capped at 200 Horsepower.   Who cares what the game runs at on the Stadia Platform, its the end-user experience that matters! And I think what is really dissapointing to alot of users is that this is GOOGLE we are talking about, its world leading infrastructure, and for this result to be the end-user Experience, and calling this the future of gaming..   IF you want to convince the existing PC owners to swap to Stadia, you need to do better in keeping the hardware matched, and you need to be careful on what you are saying that the End-user is going to get with the service.

Sorry for hijacking thread, but this is a question that Stadia Team needs to answer for us the users. Where is the promised hardware scaling to suit the performance need of the games? IS the solution to just downsize all new next-gen games to medium settings and keep 30FPS the new standard?   Read my thread below and please get the discussion going, its a fair discussion.   https://community.stadia.com/t5/Stadia-General/Stadia-platform-hardware-upgrade-plans/m-p/38433#M16553

Hi Stadia Team, I want to talk to you about the promise that the service would have the possibilities to scale, and in the future support more advanced games. The future is here now, and what i mean by that is for example a game like Assassins Creed Valhalla.   Operating at 60FPS at 4K on Xbox Series X, with very high graphics, compared to the results we are having today on Stadia: 30 FPS at 4k (medium graphics comparrision generally).   The Stadia platform have according to you scaling possibilities, and if these scaling possibilities was working, a game that requires more hardware power then Stadia is operating on at the moment, shouldnt this be automatically configured behind the scenes in the datacenters? You talked earlier about the graphics cards being able to scale, and this is what all of us are buying into, we dont need to upgrade our hardware when new next gen consoles and games are appearing, so from what i can tell today, you are not scaling your hardware automatically to enable games to be played in a way that was explained in 2019.   So, can you clarify if the plan is to manually upgrade Stadia components in datacenters at a later date, or are you going to have the games that Stadia runs determine what graphics components is required, and scale it instantly based on the hardware demand of the games, providing the user with a more satisfying next-gen experience?    Can we get an official reply to this? @GraceFromGoogle  @ChrisFromGoogle  BR, Mikael

Hi @GraceFromGoogle Does Stadia support 2 controllers to be connected to the same stadia account. In example: If i buy Mortal Combat 11, and connect a second Stadia controller to my instance, will i be able to play 1vs1 in that game? Its very little information about this, and i just wanted to know if its worth buying a 2nd controller to play with my friends irl, not just over the internet using headset.. This would be something i would prioritize to get working for users, games like Fifa and NHL would be good with this.
@GraceFromGoogle  I would love to buy the games on special, but I'm yet to receive my account activation mail..
I would buy if I could, don't have an code to activate my founders edition yet.. @GraceFromGoogle
