Does changing "Data usage & performance" to "Limited data usage" help you? It seems that some clients can't decode the stream in higher res fast enough, giving you input lag, but it works fine in 720p.

Select "Limited data usage" Restart stadia on your computer. You'll be able to play with no noticeable input lag, but it won't look as good as you might want it to. I'm on Ubuntu and this is the only thing that helped me.

Just remember that not all problems are related to Stadia itself but rather relates to choices made by the game developers. Sure Google could have demanded a certain level of performance on all stadia titles, but that obviously is not the case. Instead the developers have a certain freedom to call the shots themselves when it comes to stuff like resolution, framerate, antialiasing and so forth. Some of the criticism that people seem to have needs to go to the game developers and not just to Stadia/Google. (As a personal note. I'm quite happy with Stadia. I've been thinking about replacing my ageing PS3 with a more uptodate console lately, but with Stadia in my hands I just don't see any reason to. Sure, Stadia and the games have some problems but none that would make me buy physical console instead.)

Tried every trick on the net to no avail. It still lags. Setting "Limited data usage" to bring it down to 720p makes if fully playable. So I guess I'm stuck on low res on my desktops until google gets chrome for linux in order. Still, it would be nice with a mouse+keyboard setup for the chromecast ultra.

If all else fails to reduce the extreme input lag (like it did for me) then do this: In the stadia app tap your avatar on the top right. Tap "Data usage & performance" Select "Limited data usage" (Yes this updates what happens on your pc as well) Looks a bit crappy with 720p on a 1440p monitor but at least the input lag is gone. I have no problem using "Best visual quality" when using the chromecast ultra, but on Ubuntu it's just not happening (same on several different setups) . At least I can play the games with the above settings.

I'm a bit stuck in limbo, not being able to play properly with stadia. I have two choices on how to play: 1. On one of my ubuntu PC's with chrome. Which suffers from extreme input lag* making it completely unplayable. 2. On the chromecast ultra with the stadia controller. No input lag, but playing FPS type games with a controller when you're used to the precision you get from a mouse and keyboard just kills the whole experience. It would be nice to be able to connect a mouse and keyboard when playing on the chromecast ultra in some manner. Or if Google could look into the ubuntu+chrome issues ... *I've tried all the tips on making it faster and on several machines with ubuntu to no avail. (You know, trying enabling all kinds of GPU support and/or using chromium. A Geforce GTX 1060 should be able to handle the decoding one would think)
