Google thinks "We're as big as Microsoft. We don't need to talk about upcoming features, because we are big. Instead, let's do the opposite like al big corps do: silence everyone and wait till true announcement." Just look at the AMA they did here with Founders. Lol we are here since Day 1 and they STILL won't talk to us. We are nothing special, we were just dumb enough to put money in this the first. (Big fan here btw, just to make a statement). If Stadia was a true start-up, they did not survive this. Why because Founders/Early Adopters, simply expect to be held in the loop a little bit. That's what all these kickstarters etc are doing. Why won't Stadia? Because Google won't let them. Marketing-wise: Everyone is telling the team what they wanna hear: new countries, big names, new features. But Google stays 100% silent about this stuff. Just games and not even big games (although Indie's are great, don't get me wrong here. But big games = marketing) PR-wise: They are not actively contacting news publisher- or social media fires like last night (CET here). Instead, they let it run.  Let's be honest here: a big corp like Google has the same issue as a game developer. There was a dev on Reddit who said it all has to do with budget. PC and consoles come first. When there is some budget left they might create the game for Stadia as well. It's a money game. The bigger the platform, the more interesting it gets. Now spin that to Google. They offer all different kinds of services (Workspaces, Android Store, Youtube, Ads, Analytics, etc.) The bigger the service, the more interesting it gets. Stadia is not that big of a deal for Google yet in terms of marketing. There are bigger fish to catch. I think. I always imagine the top of Google sitting together for their weekly meeting: "Google Top Dude: Good morning guys, let's talk numbers!" "Google Ads person: last week there was a 15% growth over the previous week. We are gonna push this and that to keep it up!" "Google Analytics person: we sent out the e-mail about Google Analytics 4 replacing UA and the current respons is looking good. People are already switching". "Google Workspaces person: Last week 1980 new businesses were welcomed to our suite of work-apps. That a 20% growth. We need x-amount of budget extra to push it further." "Android person: Well, we are still the biggest platform of the world and everyday new devices are getting activated. Our revenue just passed the 10M line!" "Youtube person: We are finally making profit!" "Stadia person: We got an exclusive deal with Pac-Man!" "Everyone: who were you again?" Just kidding of course, but you get my point: Stadia is a start-up and needs to prove itself to us (gamers), but also to Google itself in terms of numbers. My bet is their marketingbudget is too low right now. Or spend wrongly, that's clear.
You can't pre-order games for Stadia with offline content (Right now). Maybe in the future. Shouldn't be that hard to do, since Google already has an address for you.
Wait, are new feature announcements here? Ah.. no... They are nowhere, sorry never mind
Nice, nice, nice! Just one tip: you should have added the Cyberpunk stuff in the YT announcement.
WILDLANDS! Yes, platinum that stuff all the way!

Okay, I just read while writing this that game is not launching on the worldwide release date (nov 19?) for Stadia. Of course, that is dissapointing and probably for a LOT of players the reason to buy it on another platform. It makes my below idea totally useless, but I still wanted to share my idea.  Dear fellow Stadians, Felow Founder here. Received my package Nov 21 and since then I only played a few times on my Ps4 for Stellaris and Star Wars Battlefront (1 and 2). I love the simplicity of Stadia and the fact there is no zooming noise or other hardware-issues like on Ps4. Although I am a big fan of the service, I have always been critical. Especially on the marketing from Google. In my honest opninion: there is more to be gained from us as community and from internet as marketing source to gather more players, but that is not what my post is about. It's about the highly-anticipated soon-releasing Almighty Cyberpunk 2077. Just like a LOT of people out there I can't wait for Nov 19 to finally arrive and take my day off to play Cyberpunk 2077 as much as possible. Thanks to Stadia I can start playing as soon as it launches without the wait for downloads, installs, day-one patches, mailbox arrivals or go-to-the-store-drives. And that got me thinking: all these Ps4/Xbox/PC players DO have to wait for stuff like that! And I have heard/read a lot about people taking the day off to simply play Cyberpunk 2077. Wouldn't it be awesome if THAT day would be THE day to promote the USP's for Stadia? (instant play, etc.)? And what would be a better way then to create a Live Stream Event where all Cyberpunk players start streaming the hell out of that game on Youtube? So all these people that need to wait for their game to be finally be playable on their device can "watch" how we are playing that game already. Free marketing and fun for us players! I think that would be so hilarious. All these haters out there looking at YouTube/Twitch, seeing all these people finally playing Cyberpunk, hopefully realizing they should get Stadia ASAP. However, we need four things for this: Launching on release date (which isn't gonna happen I think) Youtube (/Twitch aint gonna happen?) Integration from any device you play. An UNIVERSAL launch time for the game. So many times I wake up in Europe only to notice I have to wait for USA time to finally kick in. 00:00 PDT is 09:00 CET I think. So what time zone should we focus on. A little bit of steering by the Google Community Managers to set it up. If we could ALL play at the same time on launch day and stream simply from any device we want, just imagine how much attention Stadia would get by simply playing Cyberpunk. I feel a missed opportunity coming up.

Totally agree with your post.  I always have a feeling Google tries to do the "Apple Way of Marketing".  Back in the days when iPhone came out, people always said "wow this phone is sooo awesome! It's perfect! You can tell because everyone has it or wants one and there is no advertisment anywhere!" Of course, it could be that this was country-specific, but it was true. There was not a lot of marketing done by Apple. Of course, carriers promoted in their store and ads, but Apple itself didn't promote it (a lot) here (NL).  So, in a way, you could say the iPhone sold itself because it was awesome and defining. It was the very first touchscreen-smartphone out there and that's why everyone wanted it.  Now let's turn this around to Google and Stadia. Stadia is "the first" out of Beta. It's new tech, it's fresh and nobody once did something like this before. In short, it's awesome! So one might say: Stadia will sell itself, simply because of how "revolutionizing it is".  And since the launch of Stadia and watching the marketing by Google I can't help but notice this looks like it. However, Google might also be holding out. Because: What would happen if Google spends millions of dollars on marketing right now to attract as much new players as they can? The library is still thin. Too much big names are missing. Too many features are still not active. All that marketing budget would be a waste, simply because people will not stay and play.  I think we are just Beta users in a way to show developers/publishers how the system works, just to sell it to the big ones to attract the big games.

Well the whole "play on internet" is a bit of problem. Especially in countries where networks are not that great. So in my honest opinion: right now, Stadia can not grow as big as Playstation simply because the "network world" is not ready for it. I can not even watch Netflix in Turkey for instance because of the bad network (im from NL though and here it is superb). Here we have the T-Mobile Unlimited 5G subscriptions. They are great for Stadia! Here in NL (Europe maybe?) a datacap is prohibited. It's all fair use, but it is like a lot of TB before that kicks in and even then you first get a warning, prior to lower speeds.

Hmm I think it is interesting to see which specs are coming up and what they will do while you play. For instance "everybody" is always talking about Ray Tracing, but to be honest, I still don't really get what is so special about it and what it will do.  If Google would tell us that Ray Tracing will come in the (near) future, it would be awesome if they explained a bit what it means with some "before and after images".  THe same about 4k 60FPS . I read somewhere that a lot of Stadia games dont run it. However, I am paying for it. As a simple and normal gamer, am I being screwed over with my Pro subscription or not? When fire stuff like that is running they need to take it out with a statement or tell us they are working on it I think. I dont wanna keep on paying for the best screen resolutions if I dont get it. But about Teraflops, I couldn't care less...
Still unbelievable that Stadia is not supported from the start. There is no better way to tell your target audience that you don't give a sh*t about Stadia.

Google, how come?
Yes, we all need to calm a little bit, but I must admit, it's there own "unique" streaming service is not available on the thing. Would have been some extra marketing for Stadia missed chance

Splinter Cell. I really loved those games and I have seen that a lot of people are "complaining" to Ubisoft about the lack of a new game (New/Remastered). I think this would be awesome because: A. It's a great game (not talking about that lated version, really about the first 3 to 4: those were fab!) B. It will be a huge benefit over the other game platforms. Simply buy the game and play without a new console, how awesome would that be!  Of course it would have to be a (timed) exclusive. Then again, I read somewhere that Ubisoft right now is worth around 9 billion, so with a bit of bad luck Microsoft just buys the whole **bleep** lot, lol

Hey @StadiaTeam    Great to see all these games! Nice big lineup, just one question about the Crowd Choice thing. To activate you need to stream to Youtube right? But to me it's still unclear how to do this... Only by pc or something, I don't understand how to go live on Youtube with Stadia. There doesn't seem to be a dedicated share function for it like on ps4, as example. Who can help me?

I'm just gonna throw it out, although I think it is a very unpopular OPINION. Yes, it's Apple that is blocking it and I am for 99,99% sure it has to do with money. We as players don't like this of course, cause we want to experience the freedom Stadia is promising (which is working out quite well!). And that is the whole problem: we want that freedom, but in case of games, I have a feeling we never really had that.  I could be wrong of course, but you can also not play Halo on a Playstation. Or Crash Bandicoot on Xbox. It's not entirely the same, but gaming platforms (software) has always been restricted to the hardware. You can buy a PC game, but not play it on Mac. You can buy an xbox game, but not play it on Playstation. I have a feeling this is a little bit the same: you can not play a Stadia game on iOS. If I am selling Hugo Boss clothing in my store and I don't want to sell Gucci, that's my decision, right? To be honest: I would say "if Apple doesn't want it on their platform, it's their right". Just as we have the right to buy another phone. Besides that. I can totally imagine that a company like Apple doesn't like it if you put a FREE app in THEIR store, only to be selling games through that platform. You would say: "yeah, well, just use Apple's In-App purchases and be done with it", but 30% cut is of course a lot. AND don't forget: you can also buy your games using the Chrome Browser or an Android device. So theoratically I can buy all my games on my desktop and play them on my iPad, while Apple is making no money at all, BUT they are providing the store, security, etc. I do believe Apple has a monopoly on their own platform, but it's their platform. Just as Sony has it on their Playstation and Microsoft on their Xbox. Don't get me wrong, I want Stadia on my iPad as well, but I have to be fair: if Apple doesn't want to sell in their store, I think it's their right. And I am no fan of Apple whatsoever. If there was a great Android tablet to buy here in NL I would. But there is just none as good as an iPad imo. Rant over, game on! Let's patiently wait and see if these tech giants will play ball.

yes totally true, before I bought the Founders I thought D2 was completely free, but it isn't. No problem: I keep on paying and playing. However, since there is no other F2P game like Fortnite, it's harder to really sell this to the masses I think. Game streaming is new and "scary" for a lot of people: give em one 100% free game and let them enjoy!
Hi @GraceFromGoogle @ I am a founder, yet I do not have the privileges. Is this once again a "US Only" thing? I even bought two founder editions lol
You are a funny guy!  I find it hilarious you have such a long list of promised stuff that is still not implemented, like YouTube integration. How hard can that be?

I agree with you. There is so much strange stuff going on. Where are all the missing features? - Where is the Youtube integration? - Where is the Assistant integration, other then "start Destiny 2 lol"? - Where is Crowd Play?  - etc. I also have the Acer R13. The damned thing is a chromebook from 2017 I think, but has a hard time to play Stadia. lol, it's their own sytem! Geforce Now works flawless.. How do you rhyme that? I don't mind all the Indie Games: those developers try to be really creative instead of Activision milking another Call of Duty. HOWEVER! People want to play AAA titles as well. Where are they? When CoD Black Ops drops on Stadia I am happy. Until then, don't hold your breath for Stadia.  Just share a list of all the developers you got on board. We don't need to know which games. If you tell me: "Activision is on board", I will know enough.  And for the love of Games: please update your This Week on Stadia blogs. We are not only interested in games. We also want to know what features you are working on. What developers you signed to the platform, why there is a delay in some stuff. Google has their marketing set to "cruise-mode" while they are definitely not there yet. Yes it's a big company, but that rocky launch and the declining interest in Stadia shows me they need to push way harder, to convince the ! - Where are Youtube Ads? - Where are the Display Banners? - Search for "Cloud Gaming". No Google Ad and not even on the first page of free results.  - Where are any advertorials on gaming-websites? All they do is tell the system had a rocky launch and all comments are full of haters asking if Google killed it already. Google: use your own systems! Market that stuff or you won't keep up in this race! Let's be real: you had a start in cloud gaming, but now we have Geforce Now out of beta and MS / xCloud are pushing as well. MS stopped with Mixer but is now fully supporting Facebook Gaming. Did it ever occur to Google that there could be some xCloud / FB Gaming integration coming? Amazon Luna is launching with Twitch integration and we still can't stream normally to YouTube LOL! And don't forget about Shadow. And what if Playstation will start streaming as well?  Google, wake up!
