Great to hear that you're letting us enable Bluetooth on the Stadia Controller. What will be the button combo to start Bluetooth pairing?

My guess since the Stadia connection won't work anymore.. simply the Stadia button. Powering on will turn on controller and first time automatically in pair mode. To pair again hold the Stadia button while powering on.

A day we never thought would happen, Stadia closure, and then a rather large or small update, allowing us to continue to use the very hardware we so enjoyed.
Thank you for all you have done! This is a huge gift and means tons of plastic controllers will no longer go to waste in landfills.

It's a sad moment not only to all STADIANS but also to gaming industry. With every major gaming companies dwelving deeper & investing more than ever on cloud gaming, it's a shame to see the best & most versatile cloud platform to quit, even when powered by one of the world's tech giants.

As far as I'm concerned, Stadia was first to the cloud and I hope to see it return in some form or fashion with more innovation but maybe this time a bit more humility and leveraging all the marketing mediums Google already has available to itself. I highly recommend a bit less pie-in-the-sky feature thinking and more focus on how to sell the product to end user. Stadia was highly portable and flexible. I will miss it DEARLY. None of the others are even remotely close in that capacity, but the marketing never really mentioned it. Epic fail. It was all flashy 30 second gimmick clips or droning techy videos that didn't really explain what Stadia ultimately offered players... FREEDOM TO PLAY ANYWHERE on almost ANYTHING!!!

Hi Dan,
I'm one of the authors of a controller plugin for the Steam Deck: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/01/this-new-steam-deck-external-controller-plugin-is-quite-useful...
We'd love to battery info support for the Stadia controller. Will the Stadia team also publish the the communication protocol specs?

Great parting gift. Thanks to the whole team for supporting us over the length of Stadia's far to short lifespan. Maybe if Google had started Stadia as a real beta and adopted a different approach a la GeforceNow where the user purchases games and pays a monthly fee... Cheers from Germany

Thank you guys, stadia has been my favorite platform and the controller my favorite controller. I am really sad to see this service go. But thank you for allowing all of us to continue to use our controllers elsewhere!

With this game, I will surely have recorded my last Stadia game on my channel, but if I can continue using the controllers wirelessly, I can continue to enjoy part of the good experience for several years to come, even with a few happy tears remembering the good old days...
A big hug to everyone.

Unlocking the controllers was the only right thing you could do here, so I'm glad you didn't disappoint with this! I don't know how hard it was to unlock the bluetooth functionality, but be sure that I'm very appreciative of the work you did!
Imho, Stadia should've stayed alive for at least 2 more years to see if you could compete with Gamepass and GeForce Now. But the higher-ups gave up...
The technology was so refined!
Oh well...
Can't change it anymore...
