Stadia is dead, unlock the **bleep** controller to be used wirelessly for other platforms now. It's been years people have been demanding it for YEARS, just do it already.
This is beyond stupid. Just let us use the stupid hunk of plastic you charged us money for so it doesn't end up in a landfill or buy them back in bulk.

Hi @Rio425ee
I just finished some gaming on Stadia so I am pretty sure Stadia is not "dead".
It is a Stadia controller and it works great on Stadia. There is some unofficial method to get it working on Steam. ![]()
So not sure why Stadia should open their controller to other platforms? ![]()

Because it makes sense to make controllers play nice with all supported devices, not just for a single, not very well supported platform.
The days of walled gardens are over, didn't you notice?
We have cross-play, cross-progressions and most controllers work on PC and mobile.
Except for the Stadia Controller, where Google refuses to enable Bluetooth or fix the profile for USB-C connection.

Hey guess what just got announced close to 6 months after we said stadia is dead......and you said it wasn't.......stadia is shutting down like anyone who has 2 eyes hand 10% of a functioning brain could have seen coming from launch day.
You owe us all an apology for your stupid comment.

Anyone with 2 braincells to rub together knew for a certainty stadia was going to be walked off into sunset to be added to the "killed by Google" graveyard before the service ever launched.... so really it aged exactly as expected lol

People like you make me sick. Y'all are the very reason why we can't get anywhere with actually solving problems.

I chatted with support, but that was totally unhelpful.
In the end they said I should use the feedback function in the app.
I suggest we do that and bug them.
Not sure why they would want their actually great controllers to end up unused because they didn't put in a minimal amount of effort.
Not a good look for sustainability.

So we were absolutely right and stadia was of course always doomed to be shut down from the start, so I reiterate: UNLOCK THE **bleep**ING BLUETOOH NOW YOU IDIOTS

I kindly request the Bluetooth to be unlocked. You may refund a small amount of users for hardware. But not everyone bought the controller from your store. Since other retailers offered and sold this controller. I again request to have it unlocked. Unlocking this controller will make it compatible with Google tv and other Google platforms that are still supported like android..

On my Smart TV I can not connect a cable. Geforce Now would run on it although without a controller nothing works. Please enable Bluetooth and reduce the E-waste, otherwise I would have 3 controllers lying around that would end up as waste.

I agree. GOOGLE do the right thing and save the planet from a load of useful controllers that could benefit by having the availability of Bluetooth for android, PC and Mac ect. At least you could also then profit from the pile of defunct controllers still in shops around the country. And it would be the decent thing to do. Also you'll at least keep a few people happy who already have a controller. It's a decently made controller. I just wish it was Bluetooth with my PC.

Another vote for keeping the controllers alive by converting them to Bluetooth. I have 3 controllers and would be disappointed in Google for forcing these into the ewaste system. I would even go as far to say they can keep my money that I spent on the controllers, if they work as bluetooth. In all reality they should keep the controller in there electronics store to sell as a stand alone Bluetooth device.

There is no way to use a cable on a wall-mounted Andriod TV. Please enable Bluetooth to avoid extra e-waste.

..it's not e-waste, it is real waste.
I am living in the EU and I am pretty sure, that there is a law against that kind of thing.
If google will not make this device usable for us and an extended lifetime, we should simply return it, demanding proper recycling and point the EU commision towards this.
Google will have to pay a multitude of money, just to handle the returns properly...fixing it will be much cheaper.
The new buzzword is ESG-reporting and sustainability act.

You are dead wrong! Google is unequivocally NOT better than that.
Google is a company that is beyond incompetent, and beyond just blindly greedy and shortsighted. Stupidity is built into every structure the company is built on. the fact so many people are still coming to grips with this only now in 2022, despite the ample evidence does not bode well for our species
