stadia CCU No Sound on headset works everywhere else

I have sound on tv. headset works flawlessly with phone and chrome browser.

when connected to the ccu it recognizes the headset, the mic even works in game. but so sound what so ever from the headset. volumes are full I've reset the ccu I don't know how many times now. I've spoken with support and they have been next to no help at all

I'm 100% on only 5g network as I've disabled the 2.4

i was told i had to do the return process to find out they want me to pay full price and order a new premier addition.

this is a make it or break it moment for stadia for me if i cannot use my headset with my tv where i play the most.

totally un happy with support right now.

Hiya @zZSmokinGoodZz,

Sorry to hear you are having issues with audio playback on your headset.

Right now you CCU is connected to a 5GHz WiFi network and your Stadia controller is also using 5GHz. I had some issue with stuttering audio when the controller is connected to 5GHz.

Could you try factory resetting your Stadia controller and try connecting it to 2.4GHz? I know you disabled it but if possible please try this. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @zZSmokinGoodZz

Other than trying a different headset I am out of options for you to try I am afraid. :face_with_rolling_eyes:
Best thing you can do is reach out to Stadia Support chat and let them know what you have tried.
Could be a hardware related issue.

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to thank @RXShorty for their support on this thread so far. I just wanted to hop into this thread to see if I can provide any additional support.

@zZSmokinGoodZz, first off, I wanted to address the issue. I'm so sorry that you are experiencing this right now. Personally, I play games late at night so headphones are an absolute must, or else my wife comes downstairs to yell at me, "GO TO BED!" My point is, I understand how vital headphones are to a great gaming experience. Let's see what we can figure out here together.

If I'm understanding this correctly, you were previously able to use your headphones with your CCU, but as of right now, they are no longer producing any audio. Is this true only with Stadia, or is this true when trying to listen to any other type of media with your CCU? When you say that you've done a reset, have you done a Factory Reset or just a Reboot

Update us when you can. In the meantime, I'll be looking deeper into this to see if I can find a solution.

Thank you,

James
