Any advice in fixing sticky buttons? My X and A buttons suddenly stick when pressed. Nothing has been spilled and I play with clean hands. Any ideas at products or do I have to take it apart?
Before taking it apart it would be better to contact the support https://support.google.com/stadia (on the bottom you have the chat option) it could be something simple to resolve, or if you are still on warranty you may be eligible for a replacement!

Stadia support are practically useless. Purchased a stadia just before Christmas just to play F1. The R2 button as been faulty out of the box. Sent loads of emails to support they just say they are co-ordinating a replacement. Its been about a month of co-ordinating now.
They just don't care and I don't really, Stadia is finished.
Hope they sort yours for you. Just remember you need your stadia box serial number, chromecast serial and stadia serial number.
Have a good day..

I have the same issues but with the R2 button.. What should I do.. It just stay pressed
I just experienced the problem, searched online for help, came across your comment. Went to stadia support, started a chat, and within 10 minutes I've received a link to order a replacement and I can send the defect one when the new one has arrived. Oh and the controller is pre-owned and I don't have any proof of purchase. Anytime I've contacted stadia support the problem was solved within minutes. Nothing but good experiences
I am having the same problem. I have a sticky button and it's not even that old yet. I went to the help page and only found twitter and Facebook to contact. How do you get help with this?
I've got two Stadia controllers, had one since end of November 2020, the other since end of December 2020. Both have sticking/creaking sticks. Contacting Google support is a painful, time consuming process, they now want all sorts of information and photographs. It's very poor support for a large company, it feels like they blame the user rather than their poor build quality.
The Stadia controllers are poor quality, I've never had these sorts of problems with Playstation, Xbox or Nintendo controllers, even after years of use, these are failing after just a few weeks use.
I've recently had the same issue with the X button being "sticky" , but nothing was spilt on it. The spring feels stuck.
Really surprised has I've only had it from about 2 months now.
Same here.
I've got two Stadia controllers, and go the same issue in both! Even on the one controller bought last week.
It appends more likely when the controller is warm, after 15 ou 20 minutes of playing time. Very annoying indeed.
The only workaround is to put a drop of water or alcohol on the button, and it works again.
Contacted the support, and they are going to send me another controller. But not sure this will help. As for me, this looks like a controller design flaw.
I like Stadia, and if Google wants this new service to take off, they should look seriously into this issue, as this is a real pain for players.
Hi everyone,
This is an older post so we're going to go ahead and lock it now. Thanks for being a fan and please feel free to reach out in a new if you need anything else!
