I've been a day one user, and I like the concept, and yeah we are in the beta, and yeah you are still making us pay for it. But when can you let us use the " classic Bluetooth" as stated on your website for a year, that functionality is coming soon.
Like in 1 or 2 years. I would love to know. Because I waited on you google to get this done, as i bought two controllers on day one.
Now either tell me its not coming, or just press enable from your end.
I think the point is that people want to use the controller for non-stadia games. The direct wifi to stadia is the right thing to do, but it would be nice to be able to play games from the Play Store using the controller.
Do you have the source link for this? would be nice to see it in this thread so that we can all hold Google to it.
This comment doesn't hold much truth without linking source info. I doubt this is true.
Google really needs to stop bsing people and open up Discovery on these 75 dollar controllers, this is crap that we used our money for these things when EVERY OTHER CONTROLLER has Discovery mode. AND they haven't really seemed to bothered by the fact that they advertised a platform and have fallen very far from where they allegedly were supposed to b. Update The Gd Bluetooth settings on these. I'm so sick of companies selling crap too us then telling us what we can or can't do with that crap.
Who in the Hell Do you people think you are anyway?; and when did customers start paying hard earned money just to be told how, when, and where we can use some thing WE PAID FOR? THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS AMERICAN CAPITALIST SYSTEM.
90 PERCENT OF THE AMERICAN POPULATION WORKS AND THE 10 PERCENT GET RICH FROM THIS **bleep**
Any news on this topic? I really hate that I'm not able to use wireless Stadia controller on Windows / Android out of Stadia cloud platform.
2 years later almost the controller is still a paperweight without stadia ....
These gamepads are going to be pure e-waste if Google doesn't add bluetooth pairing.
Use the feedback form in the Stadia app!
Apparently that's the only way Google gets outside info into their silos.
They might as well not bother anymore.
I ended up caving in and buying an Xbox controller, which allows me to play everything on Steam + GeForce Now + Stadia as well. As a result, I'm using Stadia less and less, and I stopped paying my Pro subscription months ago.
Google has donde a great job in letting this project die as efficiently as possible, which as we now know will eventually become a white label service for other cloud gaming providers.
I think they should bother.
Stadia itself can't be saved, it never got off the ground as we all know.
Maybe the have luck with their white-label-service, maybe not.
But they pushed the hardware heavily on Black Friday, and I think they owe it themselves and us to make it usable.
If not, they have only shifted the burden of recycling e-waste from their warehouses to us.
Maybe allow BT on controller to connect to a device that is running Discord (like a phone or Google TV) so the headset connected to the controller allows cross-platform gamers a universal voice channel and in-game sound effects mixed to perfection? Or allow you to use spotify to replace in-game music with your own playlist?
even better would be software integration in the stadia app, but that is for another thread.
Using the controller BT would work around that and maybe save the hassle of Stadia developers having to collaborate with third parties.
Now that Stadia is being shut down, this is even more important. I've just waited 2 hours in line for customer support only to be told:
I've checked my resources and also talked with one of my senior specialists here. I'm sorry, we don't have any information or roadmap if Stadia will unlock Bluetooth for Stadia controllers.
I definitely understand this is something you guys eagerly want integrated and is very important to you. We do not have a timeline on when or if this is something that will be implemented, but I’ll continue to share your feedback with the team.
You may want to submit your ideas by making a post on our Community Forum: https://community.stadia.com/t5/Community/ct-p/en_community
Found this article after the shutting down news today cuz I was worrying my 4 controllers would just be e waste.
Such an easy feature that the biz refused to enable. Google as a whole doesn’t give a **bleep** about the environment. Just sad..
Unlock or at least release the source code!
