Hey,
I got the Stadia Premiere edition thanks to the YouTube Premium offer. I was eager to test the controller as I already tested some games on my computer and it wasn't so bad (so, no issue with my Wi-Fi connection I guess).
But I was very disappointed when I receveid it this morning, as my controller just won't work when used wireless.
I did everything as explained - my controller was able to connect to my app and to my Chromecast. For some time. Usually it just disconnects in one minute, and I must enter a linking code again. When I enter the code, either nothing happens or the Stadia controller light turns white but is not linked. Sometimes it is linked successfully but then the light is blinking orange.
So I tried a factory reset (Assistant and Screenshot buttons). It worked. I was able to play 30 seconds and then, same problem as before.
I am playing on my 5Ghz network. I tried to disable the 2,4Ghz that works at the same time but nothing would change. I also tried to play on my 2,4Ghz but it would stay the same.
Also, when paired in USB, the controller works just fine.
I guess the problem comes from the controller. Any ideas?
Thank you very much for reading.
Okay I fixed it.
Don't really know why, but the solution was to let the Stadia controller on the 2,4Ghz network, and anything else (Chromecast, phone, computer) on the 5Ghz network. This is really strange but now it's working and it's great. Thanks!
@sldjr Could be your network causing the issue or a fault with the controller itself. Maybe try setting up the controller in a different network and see whether it works fine in which case the issue might be related to your network otherwise replace the controller.
