Ahoi there,
Sorry I couldn't thought of a suitable title. Today I wanted to charge my new Stadia Controller the 2nd time since I got the bundle. But It felt kinda inconvenient always changing charges because of the lack of sockets. I noticed and thought "Great!" because I have my fast charging charger the original one I got from my Huawei P30 Pro. This one is always in the socket and leads directly onto my table which is just the perfect spot.
BUT as I plugged the controller in it constantly started it vibrate - WHY? Normally it only vibrates the first time and the orange light goes on when I plugged it in. But in this case it kept repeating the same process over and over again. This is not happening with the original stadia caple. Those this mean you can only use it with that one?
The Huawei P30 Pro has the same connections on both ends as the Stadia those but it seems that both are differently interfering with the Controller.
And by the way is the Controller charging slower if I plug it in on the PC instead of the socket? Because it would be much more convenient to do us. It just seems each time I plug it in my system tries to find suitable driver but fails each time. But it still can charge right? I mean the issue not finding suitable drivers only means you can't use it to play on my PC but I guess charging should still work, right?
EDIT: I just checked both cables are USB-C so why is there a difference? I really do not get it.
Thank you
Hi @VanFersen,
USB-C is complicated.
The Stadia controller is not compatible with any sort of proprietary rapid charging technology like what is used by your Huawei P30. The Huawei charger doesn't follow the standard USB-C spec so it won't work which devices which adhere to it strictly.
In fact, the Stadia controller doesn't support any rapid charging as far as I'm aware (like USB Power Delivery); even when plugged in to a USB-C charger it won't charge any faster than it would with a standard USB-A charger - or a USB-A port on your computer.

Hello @VanFersen,
Just wanted to check in here to see if you were able to see @codesplice's previous reply? Do you still need help? Let us know when you can.
