Stadia Controller squeaks - no warranty

Hello,

 

I have a stadia controller whose left joystick squeaks. I don't have a bill or packaging, but the controller is not even a year old because Stadia hasn't been around that long.

 

What are my options?

Sorry to hear this is happening to you too! I'm having the exact same problem. I contacted support and after jumping through a few hoops such as uploading a video to YouTube ( as requested) and sending a pic with a case number written on a piece of paper next to my controller, including the serial number of the controller, the order number from google store, and name address etc. they gave me a couple of options to replace it under warranty. I'm in Canada, not sure if that makes a difference & my controller is around 9 months old.

Hi @Mayorpayne 

Please contact the Stadia support directly (e.g. via Chat https://support.google.com/stadia/contact/stadia_chat). The warranty regulations are very country-specific.  

This sounds that this should not be happend to you controller.

Contacted support.

Reply was: As it isn't a functional error this isn't a warranty aspect.

Used now a little bit oil in the joystick but without a positive outcome. Seems to be a productional error.. but no warranty issue..

 

Also beside this point I see the quality of the Stadia controller far behind a PS4 controller. Even if it is way more expensive.. not a good start for me.
