Dear community,
At this moment I probably have a strange problem using my Stadia Controller playing certain games on the Shield TV using the official Stadia app.
Using my Shield Remote to navigate on the Shield TV I start Stadia and once launched I go into the controller settings to pair my Stadia Controller. At this point I already see a " Bluetooth Controller" is connected and this is probably my Shield Remote which also connects with bluetooth to my Shield TV. Once my Stadia controller is also paired I can then use this controller to navigate within Stadia and launch any game I want.
The problem at this point seems that certain games once launched does not respond to my Stadia Controller and some do, personally I think some games think my Shield Remote ( seen as a bluetooth controller ) must be the default controller or simple to say as player 1 and the Stadia Controller as player 2. The only thing that works is opening the Stadia menu and navigate within but the game itself does not respond.
One can say why not disconnect the Shield Remote? Well if I do that I can not navigate anything on the Shield TV, not even launch Stadia and connect my Stadia controller to it. So if anyone has the same problem or solution please let it know.
Hello @BlintWave,
Thank you for posting in our forum. This is definitely a frustrating issue to have. It seems like your TV is doing its job by recognizing both input devices, but not separating them when you need it to. Lets see what we can do to figure this out.
When did this issue start? Has it always done this, or did this problem surface recently? Have you attempted to Factory reset your controller to see if that helps? Just note that when you do this, you will have to set up your Stadia controller again.
Let me know if this helps at all, if not, we can look into some further troubleshooting steps.
Thank you,
James

I did not yet perform a reset on the controller. But today I found a workaround to play the games with the stadia controller.
On the Shield TV I just installed a Chrome based browser, go to the stadia website, paired the stadia controller and played the games that did not work before with the problem I posted with.
This tells me that the official stadia app on the Shield Tv is not able to recognize the stadia controller with certain games, while on the browser it works. Secondly I really wonder why the official stadia app recognizes my shield remote as a game controller anyway? And just to clearify I dont have any bluetooth controllers connected to my Shield Tv besides and only the original shield tv remote.
So yeah...there is a workaround and I will try a factory reset later this week but something officially supported should work better I suspect. So at this point problem not solved (yet)...
