Jump to Best Response
  • Stadia controller works fine on the PC , in menu as well as in game but when connected on the TV via Chromecast Ultra, controller works fine in the menu but no reaction in-game. Tried Chromecast only on wifi, then with Ethernet cable, same problem

I found a Solution: Restart your Router. Now the Controller works in the Game again

I had the same issue, this is a network internet access problem. My SonicWall Firewall blocked the ports for the controller to communicate with stadia my Chromecast Ultra was in the Any Any allow rule from LAN (WIFI) to WAN but I also needed to put the controller in this any allow firewall rule. Just to be sure I also added the two devices in the intrusion prevention exclusion list.

After this change my controller started working with stadia on my laptop, and my Chromecast Ultra.

And it makes sense to me the controller is a Wi-Fi controller and It could not communicate with stadia, apparently the input is send directly to stadia.

Hope this helps you guys.

Is this a problem in a particular game or is it present in multiple games you've tried? Has the controller ever worked correctly with the Chromecast?

Same for me. Since yesterday. Connection is excellent. The controller is working in the menu, I can select and start the games but if I'm in the game the input is gone.

Restarted CCU, Wifi and Stadia but no change.

I played in the morning and in the evening nothing worked as expected.

Any luck? Same is happening to me today. Did it resolve itself after a controller reboot or something?

Hi @Ellistev, thanks for coming here for help. Have you tried a factory reset on the controller? If not, please refer to the instructions on this page, then let us know if that was any help to you.

I have the same Problem als descrived above. Controller hard reset, wich you suggested, did not help.

What else can I try?

I'm having the same issue.

I had this problem a few weeks ago on Chromecast, after factory reset on the controller and switching games a couple times it started working.

I'm using USB to be pixel phone right now and I have this issue across all my games now.

Factory restart, phone reset and will have this issue.

Switching to wifi to see it that fixes it. @ChrisFromGoogle

Same for me. Stadia controller works great with Stadia menus, however in-game the controller doesn't appear to work at all. I tried multiple games, same result.  I'm using the Stadia controller that was delivered in December 2019 with Chromecast Ultra. Of that helps at all. :slightly_smiling_face:

This is happening to me since the very beginning.

From time to time the controller stops working (only in the game!) but Stadia menus keep doing well. Don't know what is going on, I've try different wifis, ethernet, reseting, everything... is super annoying.

A solved this problem in my network when I disabled NAT boost on my TP-Link router. My device is the Google Chromecast TV.
