Hey what's up stadia community. Quick question... Can you link the stadia Controller with nvidia shield tv to use to play android games?
Only wired support currently for the Stadia controller AFAIK with anything that isn't a CCU. There was talk that wireless support would be extended to Chrome soon, but how/if that would work with Shield is an unknown at the current time.

Good Info to know appreciate it Mad Dog. Considering those facts and I have the standard Shield tv and I'm not seeing any USB spots to plug into ![]()
I have a shield TV and it has USB ports on the back. I use one to plug in a 256 Gb thumb drive for extra storage. Do you have an earlier version?
I think so I'm honestly not to sure I recieved it as a gift but its a small cylinder shape with power, HDMI, Ethernet & MicroSD ports. A USB port would be nice.
I've been using stadia on my 2019 shield TV cylinder version with a wireless PS4 dual shock controller for almost 2 months now, works perfect. I just Bluetooth synced PS4 controller with shield and that was all there was to it. I've tested the controller works via chrome and stadia app too on the Nvidia shield. I still need to use mouse toggle for Android TV to navigate around at times.
did your vibration on dualshock on shield tv work?
Nope, that doesn't work unfortunately.
Hi, how did you make Stadia to work on Shield Tv ?
When in a Stadia game on Shield, if you walk a way for a couple hours, the Stadia controller pairing panel will pop up a couple times for a few seconds. I haven't yet been fast enough to get to the controller and pair it before it disappears. Nor do I know how to force it to appear (no option in Google Home app on my phone).
Update: Turn off ethernet so you force the Shield onto WiFi. Start a Stadia game using a standard, rather than game, remote. Then, the access code will appear and allow you to connect with the Stadia controller.
This really worked, thanks!
Edit: Only on wifi. Turning on ethernet bring the prompt back, but it fails. The controller detects it, but won't confirm on the TV side.
It took a few tries but I was able to get it to pair using this method while wired. It seems I had to do the code fast.
My stadia controller arrived the other day (free with cyberpunk) and I've got it working wireless with Nvidia shield once I understood how the controller connection works.
The controller connects to your home WiFi, it doesn't connect in the same way a PS4 or Xbox controller connects and binds to your console or Nvidia shield via Bluetooth or WiFi dongle etc.
The stadia controller is free to move around your home and be used on whatever device you wish to play a stadia game on. The linking actually happens when you start a stadia game up by entering the button combination requested on the screen via the controller. This is very clever and works well.
So you can't control the menus on the Nvidia shield via the stadia controller as it only works in the stadia app when playing a game.
I did notice it can take 30 or so seconds from switching on the stadia controller before it seems ready to enter a code and be happy with it..
