Hello together,
I'm a Stadia Founder and a pro member since day 1. Also very happy.
But since some weeks I have a problem with both of my Stadia Controllers (Founder edition and white).
Sometimes everything works fine. But sometimes I can't connect my Stadia Controller with my Chromecast, Smartphone or Mac to play wireless.
I'm "starting" my controller and after entering the code, nothings happens. After a while I can see the error on the Stadia App "Cannot connect to google service" or something like this and the controller is blinking orange.
I resetted both of the controller several times (also factory reset), but nothing helped.
In my router I can see. that the Stadia controller is connected to the Router. I have a 2,4 ghz and a 5ghz network. Also turned off 5ghz and 2,4 ghz - nothing helped.
After some days it could be, that everything is working fine.
Maybe you have an idea.
Thanks!
Hi @Alienuser, I'm unable to download and view those files. If in those reports it has become apparent that your network is losing packets, that could be the culprit.
If your network is stable, then it might be the case that your controller is faulty and should be replaced. In that case, please reach out to Stadia Support for additional assistance.
I had the same issues. And I went through a lot of the same troubleshooting stuff that you did. However, what solve the issue for me? I found in a Reddit thread, and all I had to do was turn off my VPN.
Hi @Alienuser,
This support page indicates that the status LED blinking orange indicates that the controller is unable to connect to Wifi and needs to be set up again using the Stadia app on your phone:

You might try using the steps from the "Use new Wifi information with your Stadia Controller" section on this page to see if that will get things going again.
Let us know how it goes!
Hi @codesplice,
Thanks for the answer. I did this several times. Also I can see the connected controller in the router ui.
I’m getting the error message in the stadia app, that the controller is unable to connect the Google services.
Sometimes it’s working but sometimes not. ![]()
Thanks.
@Alienuser Hmm....
Have you tried restarting your router? Sometimes that can help when certain devices have trouble connecting to the network.
Hello,
yes. I did this several times. Sometimes it's helping, sometimes not.
Best regards,
Lars
I have this *exact* issue with my white stadia controller. Have factory reset it, set it back up with the app twice, reset my chromecast, etc. No change. My founders edition controller works just fine. It's mind boggling that I'm having this problem considering that nothing has changed in my setup.
Hello @killerdobie,
same for me. Nothing changed for my setup.
Hi @Alienuser, sorry to hear of your controller troubles. This sounds like it might be a network issue but I want to make sure first. Can you try testing your network's stability? Packet loss can affect your connected devices' abilities to communicate consistently with the Stadia datacenters. Once you have done that, let us know and we can dig in further.
Hi @ChrisFromGoogle,
thanks for the answer. I did the Stadia Speed Test multiple times. Every time good connection (see image).
Or should I do another test?
Thanks
Hi again. There are other tests you can run which test for things like "jitter" and "packet loss," both of which are metrics of your network's continual stability. Effectively, Stadia (and by association, your controller) depend on an extremely stable connection, not necessarily an extremely fast one. I can't suggest a specific test, but look up ways to test those things and let us know what the results are.
Hi @ChrisFromGoogle ,
thanks for the answer. I did a few things now. Maybe that helps you identifying my problem. Currently it's not possible to connect one of my both controller to stadia.
ping -c 5 stadia.google.com > ping.txt
nslookup stadia.google.com > nslookup.txt
whois stadia.google.com > whois.txt
trace stadia.google.com > traxe.txt
All the files can be found here: https://easyupload.io/m/anuvp1
Thanks for the help!
