Stadia Controller Refuses to Link with Google Chrome

Jump to Best Response

I play on PC, and I have very little success with linking the Stadia controller via Google Chrome. It will maybe connect 30% of the time, and I have no idea what causes it to work or not work. I have tried all the fixes mentioned in the pinned post, and this thread, but still have no luck.

Stadia Controller Won't Link with Chrome Browser -... - Stadia Community

My PC is hard wired via ethernet cable into my router, and I have super fast gigabit internet. No VPN.

When trying to connect, I long press the Stadia button on the controller (vibrates twice), and the controller blinks slowly white, waiting for me to enter the link code. I enter the code from Stadia on Chrome, and the controller vibrates like it accepts it, then shuts itself off after about 20 seconds. I've tried clearing cookies and cache, using Microsoft Edge Chromium (which actually works sometimes), and totally resetting the controller. I have tried it on Chromecast and android, and it works, but I really want to get this up and running so that I can play on my desktop PC. Please help?

Reverse situation. Could be a network/router issue which is difficult to troubleshoot. In case your desktop PC comes with a WiFi card try connecting that way instead of a wired connection. Or if you have a laptop that has a LAN port, use the cable from your PC and see whether the controller pairs on that device. While you try to get that sorted, you can hook up your controller straight to your PC using a USB-C cable and play on Stadia.
