Multiple Controllers each with headset

Jump to Best Response

We recently setup Stadia Premiere with Chromecast Ultra at our home. We have 4 new stadia controllers. I setup a stadia account on my android phone, it's the only stadia account we setup, so each controller appears with the same username (my username).
We play cake bash online via stadia party, with our cousins who also have stadia controllers.

We introduced headsets so we could voice chat, but stadia seems limited to only a single controller allowing headset connectivity (both headphones and mic functions). So when 2-4 of us sit down to play while we are in a Stadia Party, only one headset functions and the other family members can't engage in the audio chat or game sounds.

What am I missing? Is headset functionality limited to a single controller at a time?

To my understanding, in this situation, voice chat uses the *account* (not the controller) for voice connectivity.

So with other words(encapsulated), only one endpoint-device (Controller, Smartphone/Tablet or regular computer) at the same time can use the audio stream linked via the account.

The fact that the game- and voice-audio can't be separated(example: routing Game- via TV and Voice- via controller), there are still 2 ways workaround/solution left to try.

1. Therefore each player needs an own account, have to plug a headset into a smartphone and then connect via the Stadia app to the voiceparty.

2. Almost the same way but instead of using Stadia for voice audio you can use Discord or something.

Please correct me if I'm wrong :upside_down_face:

Good luck :four_leaf_clover:

Hello @jackdup

@LovecraftTapes is correct. Right now there is only one audio stream for game chat available on each Stadia stream.
So if you are playing with 4 players on 1 Stadia stream ("local" play) there is only 1 controller that allows the Stadia chat.
The stream is connected to the account that is playing. :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:
