Hey
is there any news about this? would like to use Stadia more often, especially via my tablet. I always have my mouse and keyboard cover with me and I don't understand why it works on a pc but not on Android
@Namma1987 I don't believe there's any news about this. Currently m/kb is not supported on Android but there's no specific reason why. Could be that the demand is low, or it's low priority of features to be added. I personally would love to have the feature. Make sure to send feedback to the team through the Stadia app. The more people asking, the better chance it can happen.
It made me curious and I tried again with chrome in pc mode on android.
The keyboard itself you can use comfortably and it recognizes it well, but unfortunately it doesn't take the focus of the mouse pointer and you can't use the mouse to scroll through the menus, which makes it unfeasible for most games ![]()
With that in mind, maybe in some game you can use it with a controller and have the keyboard at hand to write or perform some actions, although it is probably not desirable.
I would also love the function like many other people to be able to use in the native app (which could be adapted well for this topic) to recognize keyboard and mouse to be able to play properly.
A solution that can be relatively cheap for some is to use a chromebook that has a play store, but also the full Chrome browser, with some convertible into a tablet. Without tablet function you can use any old laptop and even install Chrome OS Flex for free for more performance.
Although honestly, for personal reasons and accessibility I do almost everything with a controller, but some inventory management, strategy, advanced settings and especially chat issues I much prefer with the comfort of a good keyboard and the precision of a mouse.
And let's remember that there are Bluetooth keyboards and mice as well as very cheap mini-keyboards with integrated touchpads that can be connected to any Android TV to carry out basic tasks, perhaps not for a complex shooter, but an experimental support would be nice even if it had lag and it wasn't so fluid the experience with them.
