Recently Bungie or Stadia has decided to enable the option for in-game text chat while playing Destiny 2 which was never an option unless you were playing on PC or steam. Not 100% sure who had the final decision in allowing that but what if and this isn't limited to only in-game text chat for Destiny 2. We could use our lovely new stdia controllers which I'm sure a lot of you guys have gotten recently to access text chat using Google assistant via the stadia controller, ESPECIALLY while in-game. Just tap the assistant button and with your voice tell the assistant what you wanna type in chat and the assistant sends the message. Some people don't have mics and or just prefer text chat overall because voice chat can be annoying and buggy sometimes. Just a thought for a future feature update that could in all honesty be a massive upgrade for the stadia controller and platform altogether. If the assistant is already enabled on our controllers then why not get good use out of it while in-game, especially in those heated moments when you need to communicate but can't get it into chat quick enough.
Scenario
Player 1 attempts to eliminate an enemy sniper controlling a critical chokepoint between rotating objectives but fails.
"Quickly taps the assistant button with the text chat already up on screen."
"speaks command"
"Crap two guys just hit me from the flank, Couldn't get the sniper upfront, watch out"
This can be tweaked and configured in the assistant app to recognize urgency while in-game so it can skip the initial back and forth between you and the assistant at the start so your message is delivered promptly. Idk just a thought to throw out there that just doesn't make sense to not already be a feature because the last thing I'm gonna be doing is using the assistant to read emails and check calendar updates while I'm slaying out some aliens or whatever it is you like to play on stadia. There should be more compatibility through assistant with stadia and its games because after all, it's a gaming controller right.
Fantastic suggestions @OCD - I highly suggest that you let the Stadia team know through their feedback feature. Open Stadia, click on your avatar and then you'll see in the drop down box the option to leave feedback.
Hope this helps!
