Hello,
Two of the three games that I've tried so far don't allow you to switch the look/move for a left-handed user. Rendering them pretty much unplayable for me. Probably more of an issue with the publishers but it's very annoying.
It's bad enough having the function buttons on the right, but I can get used to that.
What should I do? Contact the game publishers or lobby Google to make a left-handed controller?
Or can I do something to change the default somehow?
Thanks
I agree. I play usually on Xbox and have the sticks switched for FPS type games. I've always played that way. Tried the Stadia trial and couldn't play any of them!
I really like the service as I can play quality games on my Chromebook whilst on the move. But, unfortunately, with no way of controlling the games, then I can't commit to the monthly fee. ![]()
Out of interest, which was the game that allowed you to swap to left handed? All the ones I tried, you couldn't.
Destiny 2 is the only game I've tried on Stadia with a southpaw option so far.
I ended up using a mouse and keyboard, which makes the controller a total waste of money.
Pretty poor from Google.
I've contacted Google Support and sent feedback via Stadia several times but I keep getting the same response.
“Please send feedback to the Dev team. The Dev team then “thanks me for my feedback’’. Nothing happens. It's the same with the game publishers, logging support tickets just get me a “Thanks for your feedback, our dev team will’’ blah, blah then nothing.
Thinking of jacking it in and asking for a full refund on the games and controller. Waste of money.
The Nintendo Switch allows users to swap thumb-stick defaults on individual controllers to southpaw. Stick with that.
I can't commit to a new ecosystem without clear southpaw support. That's what was so awesome about the Xbox One. It was/is configurable at the system level opening up their entire library to southpaw players. Until Google explicitly advertises southpaw support, Stadia, unfortunately, will never be an option. To the OP, my only suggestion is to pick up an Xbox. Eventually, you may be able to order a modded controller from eBay, but the quality of the mod will be hit or miss. Good luck!
Yup, it's an accessibility issue that's given zero thought by most platforms and publishers.
Stadia support has yet to reply, 12 months or so after logging the first support ticket.
Piss poor.
