Jump to Best Response

hi, everyone

How the heck we are supposed to connect the controller to a free public wifi network if after you connect you must accept and click the button in the landing page of that network.?

This service is getting worse and worse....

Thanks so much !

Hi @cuahanghoatuoi,

Using Stadia on a public network can be a issue as Stadia is a cloud service that needs a good network connection.
The problem with public networks is that you don't know if they cap your internet speeds/latency and if things are regulated.

For example if you are connected to a free WiFi hotspot they probably want to manage you want do any illegal activities somehow.
So all traffic is inspected or regulated, this causes lag.

You are trying to login your Stadia controller on a free WiFi network with a so called captive portal, this is not going to work as the controller cannot show or accept these terms required to use the internet. This has nothing to do with Stadia but with the free WiFi owner. :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:
If possible you can always contact the tech person if they want to allow your controller, but then again as it is a shared network the quality of the network wouldn't be that great for Stadia.

There is a great video about this on The Nerf Report
