Headset plugged in to controller says no mic

I finally convinced some people to try out Stadia with me for Avengers since we can play as a group and I wanted to start using the audio jack on the controller so I can move to my TV(CCU) and still talk to people. I discovered that, no matter which headset of the 5 in my house I plug in, none of them seem to get the controller to pick up their mic. The audio works fine, its a little delayed from the TV but great in Chrome, it is only the mic. I switch my voice chat to none then back to party chat to test and it gives me the please connect a mic message. Not sure what else I can really do. 3 of the headsets are used regularly but none of them are wired. Could plugging in the aux for a bluetooth headset be causing this?

I'm a little confused because you seem to be saying you're using the 3.5mm jack on the Stadia controller but you're also saying that the headsets aren't wired.  What's one of the headset models specifically that isn't working?
