I just got Dirt 5, and while I’m driving, the gas suddenly fails like I took my finger off the trigger (I didn’t). I have to keep letting go of the trigger every ten seconds or so in order to keep driving. This doesn’t happen with GRID or any other games. I think it might be related to sticky keys, but this is a Stadia controller on a Chromecast. It makes the game unplayable.
Hi @islesfan
That's sounds like a controller connectivity issue.
It is strange if other games work as they should. Are you playing Dirt 5 in 4k? If zo could you force to play it in HD to see if that helps.
Had some issues with playing Dirt 5 in 4k with longer sessions.
Hi @eeighgn,
It really depends on your situation. Does this issue also happen with other games? Is your Stadia controller connected with WiFi? If so could you make sure it is connected to a 2.4GHz network.
I had some issues when my Chromecast Ultra was on 5GHz WiFi and my controller also was connected to the 5GHz WiFi. After connecting my controller to the 2.4GHz WiFi it was resolved.

Got on to Google Stadia support and they stepped me through the reset process but it seems like this is a hardware issue. I've only had the controller since January so they've arranged to swap it for a new one. In the meantime I've remapped the accelerate function to the R1 bumper which is simply a switch, so there's no graduated response, just on/off.

I have a similar issue with the controller in F1 2020. My controller assumes it is still accelerating even though I've released the trigger.
Is there a fix?
