Perhaps an odd question, but is anyone else finding their stadia controller quite creaky?
Especially, when playing D2 where you have to dodge and jump around very frequently it made me realise how loud and creaky the noises from the controller actually are. It almost sounds like grandmas old rocking chair (which creeps me out
).
So far, I’m really loving the stadia experience, but would feel it would be better if the controllers were to be a bit more of higher quality, and of course, less creaky
.
To add:
The reason for my concerns regarding the noises are, when my missus is reading, the noises will start to become disturbing at one point. I usually play games with headphones on, therefore, won’t notice it as quickly.
That's really weird, I have two controller and both are really quiet, have you tried reaching the support and explain the issue? https://support.google.com/stadia/?hl=en#topic=9634925
Hi @HatDroid, I might try and give it a go. I’ve actually received the whole stadia package for free (being a YouTube premium member), so I feel like I can’t really complain here
.
Hiya @MVR,
I got 3 controllers. And I am having some same experiences as you have. When playing some intense games like Division 2 or The Crew 2 and you cramp on your control a bit it will make some noise.
There is not much we can do as there are no screws that we can tighten up.
So yeah I agree would be nice if the next revision of the Stadia controller has a little less creaking sounds. ![]()
Maybe can be related to the fact that I play quieter games? ![]()
@HatDroid LOL
Sure can be the case... When I am having a race with the Crew 2 that takes over 15 minutes... I am getting a bit stressed out... ![]()
@RXShorty, good to hear I’m not the only one. Yes, I did notice that there weren’t any screws
.
I hope Stadia will release an improved one soon.
@MVR Would be really nice and welcome indeed.
But if you really cant stand the creaky sound and have a other controller laying around you like (like PSS4 or Xbox) you can always try the Tandem mode with the Stadia Controller.
Bit of hassle but if you really get annoyed... ![]()
Argh, I got rid of the Xbox one controllers a while ago
@RXShorty
I completely got rid of the console ![]()
@MVR Aww **bleep**.
Well maybe convince some more friends and family to join Stadia.
Then "borrow" their controllers in the name of creaky sounds science. ![]()
Yes, my controller has got very squeaky (bought on release). Compared to the PS5 controller, Stadia ones feel very cheap. I ordered a new one yesterday, hope it's better.
What version controller is the latest and have they improved at all?
Hi @Blaiki, do let me know if the new one is fine
.
The new controller doesn't have the creaking like my original one. I guess things get creaky with age.
I got the black controller. It could do with more dampening on sticks and buttons but at least no more annoying creaks!
I agree with the dampening. The controller doesn’t really feel premium.
Hi @Blaiki,
I am not sure about revisions on the Stadia controller.
I know a few with the Premier edition white controller which has the same issues as my Wazabi controllers.
Would be nice if there comes a new update.
Overall I like the grip and hold of the Stadia controller a lot. ![]()
Interesting how different experiences are ![]()
My Stadia controllers (Founder's and Premier) both feel very good. Not as good as the Series X or the DualSense controllers but much better than e.g my DualShocks or equally old controllers. I almost fear of breaking them in my hands.
