Stadia controller will not stay connected to Chromecast Ultra for more than 5 minutes at a time if it even connects (maybe 40% of attempts to play anything result in actual connection). I have factory reset my ultra and stadia controller numerous times throughout the past year but the problem persists.
Would it be possible to connect the controller to a 2.4GHz network? I've heard that 5GHz can sometimes be a bit flaky.

That sounds like it may be a network issue. What can you tell us about how your local network is configured? What router(s) do you have, what WiFi bands are in use, is the Chromecast connected via WiFi or ethernet, etc? The more details you can provide, the better!
Also, are you able to use the Stadia Controller when playing in a Chrome browser or does that exhibit the same issue?
Hi, My router is the standard one included with my Spectrum ISP. I am running both Chromecast and the controller on the 5ghz Wi-Fi signal. Chromecast has no problem loading videos and other streaming services, usually loads them almost immediately.
I do not have a working PC so I have not been able to try it that way, but when I try to connect the controller to my Stadia app on my phone it also has a hard time connecting.
@Massinaction Can you try power-cycling the router and then see if the controller is able to stay connected more reliably?
It does for a little while then same problems. I have wmm and power save disabled do you think that might be one of the reasons?
Sometimes I can play for hours without a problem and other times it's nothing but hours of problems.
If restarting the router does make a difference then it at least helps to narrow the focus of what you should be looking at, but I'm not sure of what (if any) settings on the router might need to be changed. Let me see if anyone else has some ideas for you.

This appears to have fixed the issue entirely. I could tell from the second my Stadia app responded that this was the fix. Immediately connected and has stayed connected for entire hour plus gaming session. Thank you so much!
