I know this title doesn't make sense...
But yes it is a controller, I have multiple controllers one of them works just fine however recently One controller whenever I join a session co-op wether it's Red Dead or far cry 6 or any far cry (4 & new dawn) that controller disconnects randomly and sometimes fairly often. Then 3 - 5 minutes of each other, other times I'll get a good 10 - 15 minutes out of it.
Thought at first maybe my local network was just being overworked but another controller works just fine. I've tested the speeds hardwired the Chromecast the controller itself just disconnects and leaves me walking in a direction most of the time. Only in a co-op or multiplayer setting. I can run a game single player for hours no issue at all. Now it's even happening just in a party chat at the main menu...
The controllers behavior is a solid white light while playing and then it shuts off almost like losing power even though it has power even though I can have it plugged into a charger at the time it does this. That's followed by a blinking amber light and then back to being off. Turning the controller back on I'm not able to reconnect so I need to reset the stadia to do so.
Not sure if it was a software update but this has broke using that controller in any co-op or with party chat for me also of note this is a first gen controller...
Any ideas..?
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to hop in here and let everyone know how sorry we are about this issue. We are currently investigating and will update everyone as soon as we can.
EDIT: We are very grateful for your patience as we've been investigating this issue. As of 11/2, it looks like our engineering team has been able to push out a fix that should be live for all users experiencing problems with the party chat disconnect issue. Please let us know if you notice anything else.
Thank you,
James
Hello @Matt_the_Pyr0,
How are your Stadia controllers connected? Are using a 2.4GHz WiFi for your controllers?
My issues I had with the controllers only happend when they are connected to a 5GHz WiFi.
Did you already try factory reset the controller? ![]()
Exactly the same problem here, only with Ghost Recon Wildlands. But I nearly only play coop. The other side has the same issue.
Factory reset seems to work, advised is to reinstall Stadia app as wel.
I have factory reset, I moved them to the recommended 2.4 but I think they were on 5 regardless the issue is still happening.
After a factory reset I can play for some time few hours and then it starts to act up again and if I haven't factory reseted it for the next night of game play the issue will continue to happen mins apart.
Also I wanted to add it's only happening to one of my controllers the first controller I ever got so gen one. I might be losing my mind but it seems after a factory reset I have no issue till right around 12:05 almost on the clock I start to get issues again and again and I'll Factor restart it and then it's okay for a few hours. It's almost like my controller sending me to bed now... O.o
Experiencing pretty much the exact issue here when I try and join party chat/co-op. Controller crashes when joining party, all game audio is lost, and it is difficult to reconnect controller once again. Turning controller on and off does not guarantee a fix. Usually controller has trouble connecting to wifi and/or game session again. With or without inputting the linking code.
If the controller gets connected again, audio/mic is usually still a problem. If I adjust chat settings in Stadia menu (to try and leave party chat and at least regain game audio via TV speakers), controller crashes again with this message (see screenshot which unfortunately a literal screen shot since controller is disconnected when you see this message).
Playing on Chromecast Ultra (Ethernet) with Google Wifi connecting controller to cloud.
Gen one controller from Stadia preorder.
I have exact the same problem here. It is a new Chrome Cast Ultra and a new controller (white) and my old one (wasabi) has the same problem. I can only play for 5 min (with party chat) and the controller logs off.
If I don't use party chat I can hang out with the boys. But I play Destiny 2 and when we play a raid we need our communication.
I am looking for a solution. Some ideas?
Hey there!
For everyone that is experiencing this issue, what version/color of Stadia controller are you using?
Best regards,
Jeran
I have the Stadia Premiere Edition Bundle (Clearly White) controller which was purchases November 2019.
