How are you playing Stadia? Is it using a Chromecast Ultra connected to your TV, with the Stadia Controller connected to Wi-Fi, or is it on a computer/tablet/phone with the Stadia Controller (or another) plugged directly into the device?
If you are using the first-described setup, is the Chromecast Ultra using a wired Ethernet connection? I would expect, if both the controller and it are using Wi-Fi, for them to both have issues simultaneously, which is why I am asking.
I can only say I play in both environments, using a Stadia Controller in both, and do not have disconnection issues. The only time my controller has disconnected is when I wanted to see how long it would last before charging, and let it die on purpose.
I'm playing on tv with chromecast ultra and it is connted to internet by cable. My controller keeps coming up with the linking code. Couldn't get anything to connect/ work.
That happens me like an hour ago in Destiny 2. Hasn’t happened before and didn’t happen again after that. I hope it was just a one time thing...
@TAFFINTOR It appenned to you multiples times? I had this append once or twice but your controller could be faulty no ?
This still happens to me I got to watch as someone in pubg shot me in the back. Not cool!
Same issues here, headset mic and sound go out, than the camera spins and the controller disconnects. I have to hold in the power button on the remote and completely shut it off and wait a few seconds to restart it to get it to reconnect. Happens 3-4 time's a week regularly ugh. Never had this happen until a few weeks ago. I play on Chromecast wirelessly and Chromecast never has any issues with connection, just the remote. I have a Netgear XR450 gaming router so I know that's not the problem, and I have Verizon FiOS for internet provider with a 100 mb up/down connection. I've had to rma one controller already due to the L3 button going soft and clicking in on it's own with no tactile feel and my new controller is starting to get soft but it still has the click feeling in it for the moment. Google seems to have a quality control issues with their controllers with the amount of complaints I'm seeing.
My controller disconnects mostly when am playing Bomberman R via chromecast and I have no ideal why it's happens so frequently with this one game in particular..
I've had it happen in Destiny 2 and once in Borderlands 3. Mind you I mostly play Destiny 2 and only play Borderlands when I don't have anything going on in Destiny which is not that often.
Is there no fix for this? Mine works fine on wifi but when the connection stutters and I plug in the ethernet, it won't link back to the ccu.
Not that I'm aware of, it's completely random when it happens and it happens to me randomly throughout the week.
My controller has started doing this mid-game disconnects in Destiny 2 (game I play the most). Frustrated by the annoyance as it disconnected me during a good game! Have tried factory reset and it didn't help. Internet speed is good & Wifi is good as well - controller is linked via 5Ghz to AccessPoint getting -55 to -60dbm signal. Chromecast is wired. I am setting up WireShark to monitor packets of the controller to see if there is any pattern of these disconnects. Does anyone know how to get detailed logs on Stadia side? I have contacted Stadia support before, but all it was done was to swap controller, nothing more.
+1, I'm affected by this issue. I'll be playing Destiny and the audio will start to jitter and I will lose control of my on-screen character. It happens consistently nearly every play session now. The weird thing is that the Stadia button / UI still responds to inputs, even as the game no longer responds to inputs. I have multiple chromecasts that I've tried unplugging, but it doesn't seem to help. My chromecast is wired to an optical connection, while my founders edition controller is connected to 5G wifi.
I play PUBG and this wasn't an issue until I moved to a new house. Now my controller disconnects during like 1 in 3 games. Not sure I'm motivated to troubleshoot. Might just hang up on Stadia if this has been going on and hasn't been resolved..
Not sure if you are still using the same router but if not make sure that you separate out the 2.5 ghz and 6 GHz channels. Also reset and reconnect your controller, fixed it for me. Still disconnects once in a blue moon but it's not a daily thing anymore.
