Hi so when I connect my controller and start up stadia everything works fine, but while I’m playing the controller will randomly disconnect. It does this repeatedly and only stays connected about 5 to 10 min. Does anyone know how to fix this? I’ve tried resetting a few times.
Hello @DullahanVG,
Do you have seperate wifi networks for 2.4 and 5?
I had some issues when my router decides which band you should use.
So after setting up two seperate wifi SSID's: one for 2.4 GHz and one for 5 GHz.
I connected the controller to the 5 GHz at first which still was not that stable so I switched with the controller to 2.4 GHz.
After this I had no issues anymore.
Maybe worth a try if this is relevant for you.
@DullahanVG just want to make sure, you're using the Stadia controller wirelessly right? Is it through chrome browser on a computer, phone, or on TV using chromecast ultra?
One thing I can think of is that your WiFi isn't stable, since the Stadia controller is connecting using WiFi to play wirelessly.
Another thing is your controller might be low on battery charge, so you can try to leave it charged for a while and try again.
@Ivan So I’m using it with the chromecast ultra and I have a stable WiFi connection no matter how I reset or reconnect it seems to just disconnect from the chromecast and I have to power back on
