Hi,
Neither of mine Stadia controller can link to a screen over Wifi. I have setup both controllers in the Stadia app on my iPhone 7 and they successfully connect to WiFi. It says "Ready to link" in the app and the Stadia button on the controller is flashing white. I have tried connecting two different screens:
Chromecast ultra
When I enter the code (from left to right) the controller vibrates twice and flashes orange. I have reset the chromecast to factory settings twice without any luck.
PC (MacBook Pro)
Same here, when I enter the code controller vibrates twice and flashes orange. I have latest chrome version, disabled all plugins/extensions, restarted the computer. When I connect with a usb-c cable it works just fine.
Further I have tried to reconnect the controller to wifi several times by holding stadia button + Y until it flashes orange and then reconnect the wifi. I have also tried to start the controller by pressing the controller for 3 seconds. I'm on a WPA2 Personal network and I have an Apple router.
I suspect it could be a router issue? Any ideas?
The Apple router was the problem. I solved it by throwing money at the problem and buying a new router 💁
I would like to see Google specifying the technical requirements clearer and get better error messages about why devices do not manage to connect!
Same problem. Any help?

Glad you got it sorted.
It's probably worth noting that if a device can't connect because of a router issue, there is nothing that Google Stadia will be able to provide information while in alerts, notifications or logs as it's failed to connect to Stadia because of the router (i.e. it never connects to Stadia) other than some sort of "no device detected" message.
I had similar problems on a brand new BT FTTP Service with the BT Discs. My controller would struggle to connect with the discs turned on. With them turned off things improved. With the Wireless Disc service disabled on the router by BT, things started working better.
Ultimately, getting rid of my BT Router and Discs and changing to an Asus RT-AX92U gaming router fixed all of my issues and Stadia has been flawless since.
