I have a new Chromecast with google TV dongle and have been unsuccessfully trying to connect my Stadia Controller since the addition of Stadia on the platform.
I get it connected for a little bit, but every time I go to start a game the controller disconnects, and then I have to shut down everything and retry to connect everything again. Once I get the controller connected again it will disconnect as soon as I enter a game.
I have done everything that is on the support docs, have reset and reestablished the controller's connection to wifi, etc. I get as far as getting it connected but it drops when I try to play.
I didn't have this issue with my Ultra, which is no longer connected to the network.
Hi @MCash0121, just to make sure -- is your controller fully-charged? I have seen reports on here in the past of sub-optimally charged controllers having pairing issues. Leave it plugged into a wall socket to charge for at least a few hours and try again.
Hey @MCash0121,
Sorry to hear about that issue with your controller and the Chromecast with Google TV. It looks like you've done all of the proper troubleshooting steps, so my best shot is to reach out directly to the Stadia support team to see if you can get the controller replaced. They also might do some troubleshooting on their end, but if they can't get it to work and it's still under warranty, I'm sure they will replace it for you.
If you open Stadia, click your avatar and then click help, it will take you to their support page where you can directly chat with a member of their support team. That's what I did when I needed to replace my Google Chromecast Ultra that came with the Primer Edition.
Hope this helps!

I've been getting the exact same problem now consistently. Playing with my family on the Google Tv Chromecast, one Bluetooth, two stadia controllers, the game glitches (Rayman, cake bash), closes and one controller can only open the menu regardless of the button one pressee. It's always with 3 controllers. Doesn't happen with 2 (Bluetooth and Stadia).
Google support seems to be twitter or Facebook account. Chat and call are rare and impossible to program for the next day. I have to do during business day, when I can't play and I'm not home.
Way to go.
