Google has released another version of the Stadia app, but the problem persists:
- The Stadia app crashes when trying to introduce password to configure Wi-Fi connection on a Stadia Controller.
I'm using Samsung smartphone with Android v. 11.
I think Stadia app has a very serious bug that prevents the use of Stadia Controllers.
Google Stadia developers should fix this with utmost urgency.
Google has just updated the Stadia app. I'm very glad to see that this issue was finally solved.
Indeed the Stadia app bug that prevented the introduction of the Wi-Fi password, to configure Stadia Controllers, was corrected.
Congratulations, Google Stadia Development Team!
Now it Works! Thank you
I am having the same issue specifically when special characters are used as part of the wifi password. As soon I press the @ symbol as part of the string it crashes. This needs addressing asap.
In my case Stadia app crashes as soon as I type the first (normal) character.
I have the exact same issue. Has anyone a Solution for this?

Hi @fmp,
On another one of your posts, it looks like you were finally able to find a fix. Please let us know if there is anything else you need!
Best,
James
Of course I didn't find a solution!
I can't configure Stadia Controllers with Android devices!
Hi again @fmp,
I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, I saw your response on this topic and thought the issues were related. After reviewing your posts about this issue, I was able to see that you attempted to factory reset your controller and that did not help. You may have done these things already, but just to be 100% sure, could you please attempt (or tell me if you've already done so) these troubleshooting steps:
This will help us better understand exactly whats going on. Please let us know how its going when you can.
Thank you,
James
Hi,
I have done all that things but to no avail.
Hey there fmp,
No problem! Let me just ask you a few more questions about what's happening:
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran
- I've tried 3 devices: Samsung M31s and A40 smartphones, Samsung A 10.1 (2019) tablet.
- I have configured several Stadia Controllers successfully in the past with said devices.
- I used already the latest version of the Stadia app available in the Google app Play Store.
- Stadia app crashes with no error message whatsoever (just vanishes).
