Hello,
Since moving over to the Chromecast with Google TV as my primary device to play Stadia, I no longer have the option for surround sound. I had the option before when. I was using CCUltra.
@MKFlyers2K The problem with Stadia is it does not support DD or DD Plus. As it is only PCM right now because of probably technical limitations. So your sound setup has to support PCM right to get surround. ![]()
Hi @MKFlyers2K
Just to be sure you are a Pro subscriber correct? With the Free you only get Stereo sound.
And a thing you can check is the Advanced sound setting set thing up manually to see if this helps.
Check THIS support page how to do this.
@RXShorty thank for getting back. I sure am. The Chomecast has the right settings and confirmed via other apps. Just frustrating.
@MKFlyers2K getting surround working is pretty harsh on Stadia. ![]()
Do the other apps you are getting surround on using Dolby Digital?
Stadia uses a other method: PCM
If this is somehow not working correctly you are not getting any surround right now.
See THIS topic for more information. ![]()
@RXShorty Sure do. In fact its DD Plus; I have a Atmos setup. Personally Google did really think out the whole Chromecast with Google TV deal. Yea the device can do 4k but does most of the apps? Nope. Just a select few. On a wim I even put the app on my Sony A80J OLED same issue. But of course the controller links up very easily with it. Since I dont have surround Im going to ditch the ChromeCast with google tv. Spec wise the Sony is far superior.
