The Stadia app is next to useless to actually learn anything about a game, in fact it has so little information it might as well get rid of the limited graphic images that it display as it is that useless.
This app needs to include more game footage, more screenshots and videos. I would at least like to see more meat in the Stadia app rather than having to go on an internet search to learn more about a game....Heck include some links to some game review sites while you’re at it too.
Stadia could certainly learn a lot from both Steam and Microsoft in this regard imho.
Given Google owns YouTube, and touted this as a big integration with Stadia, it is indeed surprising they are not leveraging this more already. I realize that, one day, we are supposed to be able to launch a game directly from YouTube, and that that feature is a ways off, but to now have embedded YouTube videos in the Stadia app already is...weak.
It should be relatively trivial for Google to show a few trailer videos that are already hosted on a platform they own in an app they own. I would expect that to be something in the Stadia app soon. I mean, just a few days ago they made it possible to buy games in a Chrome browser, so the platform is being iterated and improved on.
It would be cool to have Google integration so we can ask for more info about a game. I.e. “what is Destiny2?” “Show me reviews for Darksiders: Genesis” etc.
Also I would prefer that the games proposed in Stadia to buy show both screenshots and a video preview. I find it a great lack ,. As well as the lack of the search bar for name.
Send this great feedback to the team directly if you have not already?
Use the stadia app feedback feature for this. The more that do this the better.
