So I dunno if this has been posted before (searching didn't yield any results) but how is it that Google, a company based on Search has no search option to search for a game within the Stadia app?
I gotta assume this is on John Justice's fabled whiteboard but it strikes me as crazy this isn't already in there.
Good point, I am missing this function as well. Left feedback in the Stadia App for that already a few weeks ago, maybe it would make sense for you to also leave feedback, so that they can work on improvements? ![]()
@Chufu @I did that at the same time as posting but good call ![]()
I can only assume this was left out on purpose due to the fact that they knew it was going to have a limited game library at launch. I'm sure many of the current design considerations were also made with the small initial library taken into consideration and that there are plans to change much of the way things are organized as it grows.
If a search would have been in the app at launch, even more people than already are would have been annoyed. Searching for existing games (on other platforms) would have come up as “No results found”.
Also, it takes longer to type in the search words than brows the ”entire” store.
But I’m sure we will see a search function soon as the library expands.
@Razza :
Just a matter of time before the Web store page and App start to get updated with the relevant links and meta data.
You can already see that there is some work going on the Store already, just that most of the lists are empty currently.
Note: Interesting to see Devolver Digital listed in the publishers, they do a lot of work publishing indie games.
e.g. (Lists in bold currently return results)
really hope they update stadia with search function. sometimes I just want to find a game quickly and not waste time looking for it in the store.
I'm frustrated and can't find games I'm looking for easily.
Gonna cancel my trial of Pro.
(Yes, I've been searching and filtering titles on other sites to see if there's anything I want because the app is dismal)
You can search. Simple select "See all" next to "All games" (the link: https://stadia.google.com/store/list/3 ).
Now all the game are listed on one page, so you can use the web browser "search on the page" function (Menu: Find... OR Ctrl+F), as for any other web page.
There are less than 200 games you can play altogether, so search wouldn't get any result anyway, most of the time. That's why they didn't implement it.

Yes it would give you the results you want.
Joke:)
Yes
I am playing ElderScrollsOnline.
I buy ingame micro credit products.
I have to scroll through all the games everytime to find my already owned game ESO.
On eso page i can buy additional in-game products.
The list of games is increasing and the time spend finding my game takes longer.
I could really use a search function to find and buy in game currency faster.
Even owned games are not searchable.
Search functionality should have been implemented the moment the store had more then 10 games.
Let's hope that the SEARCH giant can add a search function. Actually kind of ironic and funny. And odd...
It feels like no one at Google is even reading these threads now. Four days until 2021, no search function, no response to any questions by an actual employee and...
Yeah, very strange to not be able to search. Can't find a game I wanted, so I need to leave and search on Google to find it? Craziness.
Their lack of action reinforces that Google is going to abandon stadia like all the other major projects. It's unacceptable that there isn't a search function. Every other gaming platform has it Nvidia, Sony, Microsoft, Apple...
I have an extremely tough time investing more money into this platform when issues like this persist.
I feel exactly the same.
They are no longer very ontop of things.
it seems like stadia lost their own interests.
it's a matter of time untill they pull the plug.
I wil no longer spend any money on stadia. because when they abondon we we lose everything.
google is wealthy enough but im sure they wil not refund anything.
