You’re not serious here surely? There’s no messaging that’s ever come from Google or the Stadia team suggesting you were going to get any game for free other than Destiny 2 The Collection which by the way is only partially free on other platforms. You have to buy Shadowkeep on all other platforms.
You’re coming across as quite unreasonable and entitled. At best you’ve badly misunderstood what you’ve been reading.
It was said during the launch event that was streamed live online also loads of other people are complaining as well at this issue that it's been wrongly advertised because stadia promised that we could play all games in launch day as part of our pro subscription !
I don't think he comes across as entitled. It is a rather confusing pitch. You can pay $4.99/month for Xbox beta and get over 100 games to play with that subscription, much like Netflix for games, which I as well, assumed this would be. I'm not sure what I'm paying for as it is ; the privilege of being able to play on a Chromecast or phone? The experience is very very buggy at the moment. The sound is oddly delayed, control support is lack luster, and destiny and the fighting game are really unenjoyable titles to me.
I ordered the founders edition and two additional controllers, but I'm starting to feel like I wasted a bunch of money for nothing. I'm just getting some hardware that, well, does nothing I want.
@Jondom152904 @Dwarfcow Do you guys have any sources saying that by having Pro membership you will be able to play all the games in the library? Google has been very transparent since the beginning that it's not the case. This is what I see from the help center
What's Stadia Pro?
With Stadia Pro you can play in up to 4K at 60 FPS with 5.1 surround sound and get discounts on game purchases. It also includes access to an ever-expanding library of games. You’ll have the best Stadia experience with Stadia Pro.
It never said anything about having access to all games. Originally Destiny 2: Collection was offered as the initial game for Pro membership. Then Samurai Showdown was added. So in away the statement was true (ever-expanding). And we already know there will be more games added as part of Pro subscription in the future. Another note, the Destiny 2 version available with Pro subscription is actually not the free version. It includes all expansions and DLCs which you need to purchase if you're playing on other platforms.
If you look at the price of the Founder's Edition, it's actually cheaper compared to buying the controller and a Chromecast Ultra directly. We're actually not paying for the 3 months Pro subscriptions and also the buddy pass that will be made available later. I think it's a reasonable value as early adopters.
I understand the value of Pro might not be good enough to some people. If that's the case, might be a good idea to wait until Stadia base is launched next year. You don't need to pay subscription fee, and can just buy games you want to play. If you feel like you wasted your money for the Founder's Edition that you bought, you have an option to return it for refund.
1. Do you use PSN Plus or Xbox live?
2. Please link to a console launch in which you were given the entire *always* poor launch line up for free.
3. Fairly sure the cost of buying Destiny 2 with all of the bundled content will set you back close to £100, plus a £69 4K Chromecast ultra plus a £50 controller.
4. Technically, you can play them all on day one and immediately, if you just pay for them 🤷![]()
5. Google gives developers capacity to run at 4K 60FPS. I'm not holding Google exclusively to account for a developer not making their game capable of doing that.
Yeah, you do sound kinda entitled and just regurgitating arguments thrown out on Twitter rants.
