In-Game audio issue in Assassins Creed Odyssey

I can’t hear my character when she speaks, her footsteps are silent, my horse running is silent, and when other NPC’s are talking I can hardly hear them unless I turn my character to face away from them and even then I can only hear it in one side of my headphones. Had the same problem in Metro Last Light, and have heard from one other person that they are having the same issue in AC. Just curious if anybody knows if there’s a fix for this, or if it’s just a bug that needs to be addressed in an update to the app.

Hey @StayFrosty,

i don't have those issues, so it might be a specific issue with your device? Which device are you using at the moment? If your device is not supported yet, you might need to activate the experimental features in the Stadia App, which might help with your issue then too. You can find more information on how to do so in this article.

What I would recommend to do first in such a case would be to try the troubleshooting steps mentioned in this article (in "Troubleshoot device issues") and the ones from this article. Usually those steps help with a lot of problems with the Stadia App.

If this doesn't work for you: Can you also test this in the Chrome Browser or on the TV (Chromecast)? Do you have the same sound issue there as well or only in the Stadia app on your mobile phone?

@Chufu @I’m using a OnePlus 6T currently, I haven’t looked at the experimental features yet so I’ll give that a shot for sure! And yeah I could try Chrome Browser, I only have a MacBook though, so would that work? And as far as Chromecast, I do have one but it’s not the Ultra so I think the browser would be my best bet. I’ll get on there and see what I can do, and I’ll go through the troubleshooting article as well. I’ll let you know how it goes, thanks a lot! I really appreciate it :folded_hands:

Maybe you activated dolby surround or something like it on your phone?

@yd1977 that’s what I was thinking when i first noticed it, but I’ve gone through every single setting I could possibly find on my phone and nothing seems to fix it. Every game I play on GeForce Now works perfectly, audio is just as it should be, so I don’t really know what to think 🤷🏻‍:male_sign: very weird...

Hi , i had the same issue , it was working fine for weeks and all of the sudden i stopped hearing NPC's and my character movement. I tried on a different device and it is working fine. The phone that i am using is One Plus 7Pro , so i guess it has something to do with an audio codec.

So now i am forced to play on a different phone.

@raptu39 Hmmm something doesn’t like to work with OnePlus apparently. Very weird. It only happens with certain games too, so that just makes it even weirder. I play Destiny 2 just fine 🤷🏻‍:male_sign: Oh well, just have to stick it out for now I suppose haha thanks for the response, much appreciated :folded_hands:

I've had this issue on my Mi 9T Pro ever since the last Stadia app update early September, worked fine before.

Update: There was a Stadia app update today (September 30th) that fixed the issue for me.

Same here with Redmi Note 9 Pro and OnePlus Nord.

Speakers only, or headphones too? Wonder if this has some type of broken 5.1 surround setting.

Same problem on CCWGTV  any solutions yet?

Found a solution for the CCWGTV, you just need to disable Surround Sound in the audio settings of the chromecast

I have a specific sound issue with oddessey it's very crackly at times and sometimes really intermittent. This is on Chromecast Ultra. Not had any sound issues with other games. Sometimes shutting down Stadia and restarting it fixes it.
