Black Screen

When I enter a game I hear the audio but I don't see the video. I see the controls and a black screen. I'm on Android 10, I use a Xiaomi Redmi 8. I tried to clear the cache and data and reinstall the app. Nothing happened.

My friend is having the same issue today.

All games work fine except for Mortal Kombat purchased today. Black screen and only sound.

He is using sideloaded AndroidTV apk on Mi Box 4.

mine does that too on the app, however if you use chrome and go to the "Desktop Site" version of stadia, it should work that way. it did for me at least. although it's pretty laggy all things considered, but maybe it's just my internet.

Using browser in AndroidTV is not an option.

Update to 3.44.408223221 did not fix the issue.

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry that you are having issues with your Stadia app giving you a black screen. I can imagine how frustrating this must be. I can't be exactly sure what is going on here, but I'd like to ask some questions to see if we can narrow it down.

  • Does this happen when you play a specific game or does it happen in every game?
  • What is your network setup like? Have you run speed tests?
  • What type of gamepad are you using?

If you haven't done so already, please double check your device's compatibility with Stadia. Depending on your setup, you may need to enable the Experiments feature in the Stadia settings. It may help to improve your experience.
