I've had it setup before with no issues. Not sure why this happened out of nowhere.
When I turn on Stadia, this message shows. When I try linking with this code it fails and the controller vibrates then goes to the blinking orange.
I go through the linking process again linking my phone (Stadia app) to the controller. When I try entering the TV code to link the controller to the TV again it still doesn't work. The same thing happened where the controller vibrates and blinks orange.
I then tried restarting the CCU by holding down the button and reconnecting it to wifi via Google Home. After setup, the TV now shows the normal startup screen. I then reconnected the controller to the Stadia app and then entered the TV code into the controller again. The Stadia logo appears like it's starting up and working, but when the screen turns black this screen shows up again, along with the controller vibrating and blinking orange.
Both the controller and CCU are on the same wifi (and 5g). I've tried many other things and variations but they all end up on that same black linking screen and the controller blinking orange. I've spent hours troubleshooting and trying to find solutions online and it's pretty frustrating situation to say the least.
Also posted a Reddit thread so anybody else that may end up here looking for a solution should check that out for responses as well.
That did not work but I did figure out a solution. Previously I tried to do a hard reset on Chromecast (didn't work) because I thought it was the same as a factory reset. When I was messing around some more I noticed an actual "Factory Reset" option for the Chromecast in the Google Home app. After this factory reset the issue was resolved.
Hi @hanniabu,
Did you try connecting your controller to a 2.4Ghz WiFi network?
I had some issues once which I resolved by hard resetting both (CCU&Controller) and connecting the CCU to the 5GHz and the controller to 2.4GHz.
