Tips on reducing controller latency?

Jump to Best Response

I've been playing Stadia for about 2 months and I love it. Recently purchased Assassin's Creed Origins and mostly play it on TV. I also plugged in an ethernet cable to have best picture quality with steady 4k HDR. However it seems to result in more noticeable controller latency, to the point making combats pretty hard in Origins, especially aiming with arrow.

When I played Destiny 2 aiming seems fine. Wondering is it a problem of the game? Or is it the controller? Honestly I always felt the Stadia controller feels a bit weird. Anybody had any tips to share?

Well when using HDR be sure to set your HDR to gaming mode.

Played on a friend's LG TV few days ago and with default HDR it was unplayable. After changing HDR on the TV to HDT game mode it was resolved.

Turned out this was the problem. While plugging in ethernet cable I also switched to standard picture mode for better picture quality, thought it can handle it with max internet speed, but now realized that better picture added to the input latency and made Stadia unplayable. I'm having a Sony X900H and game mode picture quality is noticeable worse than standard, but it's at least playable now. Thanks for the answer!
