Hello,
I've been playing with Stadia since June. I never had a problem streaming in 4K on my TV, I played for roughly 250hrs and the system has always been responsive and a real pleasure to play with on my 5GHz wifi (I never played wired).
3-4 days ago I noticed some minor stuttering, some pixelating artifacts and I couldn't play 4K anymore (even though I'm still a Pro member). If I go to the connection tab while I'm playing, Stadia says that my connection is too slow for it.
I tried everything to get back to my normal play:
- Checked my connection with some speedtests with Ookla and Google (the first result after a "speedtest" search) always 200-300MBs with 10-20ms ping
- Turn off/on my router
- Reset my router
- Unplugged all ethernet cables (for other devices that I have) from the router
- Tried to play on my laptop over the same 5GHz WIFI but I experienced the same issues.
Then, by chance, I tried a third speedtest that I found on Stadia's website at this link and the result was terrible this time only 10-15MBs. I did these 3 with 30sec-1min between each test.
How is it possible to have results so different? These results are constant I've been trying all day. This speed with stadia Speedtest justify for sure the poor porformance that I have now. Do you have any tips on how to resolve this problem?
Thanks a lot!
I played for 5 moths without issues then I had this problem for 6 days.
I called my ISP 2 times and they did 2 different things resetting my connection, after 24hrs everything came back to normal.
Btw I learned that if you want to have a real reading of your internet connection, just Ookla is not enough, you should try to use 3-4 different services (like Mlab, fast.com, ookla...) because everyone of them behave and test you connection in a different way. Regarding stadia Mlab is the most accurate
It seems like your isp is throttling your connection to Stadia. What I would do use a VPN, then test it on stadia. Of course, the inputs will be slow but if you notice an increase in streaming quality while with the VPN, then your isp is throttling Stadia or isp is having some back end issues. I went through the same thing where stadia was doing horrible and everything else was fine. Eventually, the issue got fixed, but if your heart is set on having a good experience with stadia i would change your isp.
@Yourself31 I tried using a VPN and I get even lower speed when I run the Stadia's speedtest, 5 - 8MBs. Ookla speedtest still high 80-100 MBs. What does it mean? You said that I if have better speed using a VPN it could be an ISP issue, but it's not the case.
Could be something related to Stadia's servers? (It's really difficult to understand why it is behaving this way, I never had an issue in 5 months of 4K Stadia use)
Thanks a lot.
I'm having the exact same issue starting 2-3 days ago. I get 1-2 minutes of game time and then it disconnects. Nothing else in my home is having problems.
Exact same issues (game disconnects after 2 mins). Started on Monday evening. Have had flawless performance over the past year, so surprised and unsure to have this issue pop-up without any other changes in my household (no new devices, no changes to internet service).
Same issue here. Used to work perfectly, now I get constant connection errors.
guys can you see 4k green tick?
i think this is related with the other post
