I used to play stadia on my premiere edition or on my pc without any problem. Everything great.
Now I got a new TV with Android TV 11 so I tried to download Stadia and play, but it's almost impossible. The game looks like it plays at 10fps and the streaming quality is very bad.
What's strange is that while I'm playing, I can check on my router the connection from my TV and it says it's stable at 40mbps, so how it's possible that it plays so badly?
Maybe stadia is not optimized yet for my TV hardware?
These are the specs:
TCL 4K Q-LED 55C725
CPU Realtek RTD2851M (64-bit A55×4 1.3GHz)
RAM 2GB DR3-1866
ROM 16GB: eMMC5.0
GPU Mali G31x2 800MHz
Maybe it's a problem of codec? I'm afraid my TV doesn't support stadia streaming codec so it tries a real time hardware encoding and clearly it doesn't work well.
However my TV supports a wide variety of codecs. I use plex and everything stream fine without a need for hw encoding. It's a 2021 model and it supports also hdr10 and Dolby vision, so it shouldn't be a problem of codecs.
Just to add: I installed AIDA64 and checked my supported codecs.
It says OMX.realtek.video.decoder:
video/3gpp
video/avc
video/hevc
video/mp4v-es
video/mpeg2
video/x-vnd.on2.vp9
So I found the problem and now everything works fine.
In the developer option of Android tv I had to able "force gpu" option.
Also I had to use ethernet cable. On wifi it wasn't stable enough although my router is just 2 meters away.
Hi @Trevigol
Does your TV have a game mode? if yes be sure it is enabled!
Also not all Android TVs yet fully support Stadia, please check this article, your TLC is series 5 or 6?

Hi, yes it has a game mode and it's activated but it has nothing to do with the problem. It's clearly a streaming problem, it lags and looks like it's playing at 320p
My TV is not a 5 or 6 series because those are American versions. In Europe we have different versions and different names, it's a C72 model. however it's a 2021 model
Then probably is a TV issue being not fully compatible with Stadia (I have a Sony Bravia bought in 2021 and it is still not compatible and I have the same issues)
The only way to play in your TV, in this case, is by using a Chromecast Ultra or a Google TV dongle, if you don't have a Stadia controller you can always use the phone link to play with any compatible controller https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/10870063
Compatibility is however increasing, so we may have an update about that in the future!
