Stadia app on iOS can't see chromecast suddenly ..... come on Google

Stadia app does not ask for access to local network so it can't see chromecast.

The think that pisses me off is I've been playing without issue and now suddenly (NOTHING CHANGED) it needs me to add Stadia account to the Chromecast ???? WTF

I removed the Stadia app and reinstalled .. still not working ..

Again... I've been playing without issue and now suddenly (NOTHING CHANGED) it needs me to add Stadia account to the Chromecast ???? WTF

so here I sit with no game system ..... THIS IS AWESOME!

Well no thanks to Google but being an Android developer and having a "spare" Android phone laying around I was able to get things setup ...

Whom do I send the invoice to for figuring out what's wrong with your iOS app ?

@HessianBlood

I'm far too late, but under the Stadia App in the IOS settings, you must ensure the local network setting is toggled on (its off by default).   That fixes this issue and is the cause of the bug.

Now, about that invoice...

Yeah I know ... the problem is this .. the Stadia app is not asking for access and you can't simply add the authorization to the app and there is no way to add apps to the "Local Network"  is not something you can add apps to either .....

@HessianBlood

So in your IOS Device 》 Settings 》 apps 》 Stadia

Is there  an option to toggle the app onto the "Local Network"

Apologies to go over ground, just want to be sure im trying to help from the right starting off point!

As my screenshots showed .. the Stadia app has not asked for access to local network so it's not an option there.

You can't just add capabilities, the apps have to request them from the operating system

I’m claiming a reimbursement from you - it still doesn’t work.

Exact same problem here. Happened today. Was working yesterday. I have the local network access available and enabled, but didn’t work. Had to use an Android phone to save the day.
I wonder if the update 5 days ago broke something?

I’ve only just got my Stadia Premiere today and keep getting stuck on this last bit. I thought I was going mad! Don’t understand why the Stadia App isn’t recognising the Chromecast.

Had the same last week setting it up on my grand-daughter's iphone. However, I did spot the option on the tv to continue setting up on there. Went through without a hitch.

Same problem. Doesn’t prompt for network access and can never find the Chromecast to link the account.
