Hello,
Stadia on Chromecast Ultra has crackling/choppy audio today on all the games I’ve tried. I did the following to fix it without luck:
- factory reset Chromecast
- tested it on the aux connection on controller while running on tv- that works fine
- tested it on other devices (iPhone, iPad, desktop) - none have audio issue except chromecast
-changed TVs but Chromecast still has issue with games
- streamed other content to Chromecast (Netflix) without audio issues
-changed audio setting on Chromecast through google home to “stereo only” but I’m still experiencing issues
-restarted router
Currently connected to router using a 5g with google fiber internet. Stadia was running great until today so I’m not sure what the issue can be. It still runs great on everything but the Chromecast.
Update on my fix. I chatted with support and they suggested when I do a factory reset I do it using the button on the Chromecast ultra. That did the trick. Before, I reset the Chromecast via the google home app. They also suggested unplugging the Chromecast for a few minutes. I did both and it’s working fine again.
I had the same problem until I turned of 5.1 sound. The problem hasn’t occurred since.
Update- I realized that the only time this problem occurred was at night. The variable for me was the baby monitor. If it was nearby it was interfering with my wifi connection and garbling the sound. The closer it was to my setup the worse it was. I’m sure if I had a better router that wouldn’t happen but at least now I know.
I've had similar issues for quite some time now. Both Destiny 2 and Farcry 5 both have crackly music off and on. It's random but Farcry 5 does seem to be doing it quite often lately. If I exit the game and try again often I get lucky and the next game session is fine. Sometimes not.
As far as I can tell, it's not us, it's Stadia. I don't know what the problem is but it's very annoying, and everything else is perfect, just the sound is not good when it occurs. I have 200Mb/s Verizon FIOS.

Bonjour,
.
Hi @Gaelostyle,
Was that new Stadia premier edition able to help your issue? Let us know if you have any updates.
Best,
James
