Picture quality on Chromecast

Jump to Best Response

I just started playing Stadia on Chromecast after weeks of playing on my IPhone. I’ve noticed right away that the picture quality is really blurry and degraded on my TV. I was hoping for an increase in visual quality but it’s honestly a downgrade from my phone. I’ve tweaked the settings to max resolution (1080P on my current tv) and it’s still a blurry mess.

Any tips on getting better graphical quality on my Chromecast? Also any particular reason the IPhone would display better than the TV? Both the IPhone and Chromecast are on the same WiFi network by the way.

Hello @Tazmoe,

What kind of connection status icon does Stadia give you when playing on Chromecast Ultra?
And are using a WiFi 5 GHz connection with your Chromecast Ultra?

If not please setup your Chromecast Ultra so it uses a WiFi 5GHz or even better wired connection (ethernet port is intergrated in the powersupply). :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I agree with RXShorty, it is probably a weak WiFi network.  CCU has always been by far the highest quality way to consume Stadia for me but I use it on Ethernet.

Test it out wired, just to see if there is a difference, even if it's only temporary with a cord going half way across the house.
