No 4K Stream on TV

Hello

Im a girl who wanna play Assassin Creed on TV and the option 4K is disabled. WHY?

Here the original in text :

"Das Gerät, auf dem du spielst, unterstützt 4K nicht."

Your TV doesn´t support 4K resolution.

My TV is a OLED LGC1 4K@120Hz. So my TV is on a TOP3 TV for gamers! How can you say my TV is not good enough?

Specs of a TV from LG site:

DolbyVision at 4K and 120Hz

HDMI 2.1 eARC

VRR

ALLM

NVIDIA G-SYNC

AMD FreeSync™ (for RYZEN/Stadia)

α9 AI 4K Processor 4th Generation

...

I have also:

StadiaPro

Ubisoft+

Internet Conenction @ 50Mbit. Here the original google speedtest:

Test der Internetgeschwindigkeit
015102050100+

Mbit/s

"Uploadgeschwindigkeit wird getestet...

55.1

Mbit/s Downloadgeschwindigkeit

9.85

Mbit/s Uploadgeschwindigkeit

Latenz: 9 ms
Server: Frankfurt

Deine Internetverbindung ist sehr schnell.

Deine Internetverbindung müsste schnell genug sein, um auf mehreren Geräten gleichzeitig HD-Videos zu streamen, Videokonferenzen zu schalten und Spiele zu spielen."

In few days i became a Gbit DSL so that the connection cant be wrong.

My Internet Icon on Stadia is always green.

Please help me.

Thanks and best regards

Jutta

Hey there!

Please check that your Chromecast/Laptop or PC is in the right HDMI port. Often with 4k monitors and TVs, only some of the ports actually support 4k resolutions.

If that doesn't fix the issue, go into the settings of the device you're playing on, and make sure it is set to display 4k content.

Hey there!

Thank you for trying to help me.

Yes you are right! i had this problem some time ago. Other devices are Intel NUC and Denon AVR x2700h+Bose Acoustimass 15 Series II 5.1 Home Cinema System.

Connection is over HDMI 2.1eArc with a HDMI2.1 cable. The Cable is a true HDMI2.1 cable for a lot of money with plugs of metal.... The Denon AVReciever ist set to pass-trough/bypass. So if i turn my TV OFF for example the Denon is also shutting down. So the communication over HDMI/eARC is there and functionaly. I can see other 4K content from YT or even Amazon Prime. So hardware seems to work correctly.

Of course, if i look some 4k content on Prime that i want it in my StadiaPro also... but i cant enable it in the Stadia settings cause disabled. That sucks lol!

Greetings from Germany

Jutta

Hmm that's odd. Does the message specifically say that the monitor doesn't support 4k, or is it more generic? It might be that your hardware does not support VP9 decoding, which would prevent 4k from being used. You can check this by typing "chrome://gpu" in the adress bar and searching for vp9 using ctrl + f.

Sorry for jumping in, but I often have the same issue with my CCU:

Disconnect the CCU from the power socket, wait a minute, replug it. Works for me 100% of the time.

That phenomenon seems to only happen to the Stadia stream.

Also please try the native Stadia app for WebOS which just released yesterday. :slightly_smiling_face: It's fantastic.
