Every time my son attempts to start Stadia on Chromecast, it goes back to the home menu or says he has to install the App (it is installed). Is Stadia with Family accounts broken on Chromecast? Any tips?

I'm able to fully use Stadia on chromecast for my son with family sharing! so let's try to understand what is going on here ![]()
First of all make sure you have a family group active
Before you can use family sharing, you'll need to create a Google family group with the same email address you used to set up your Stadia account. You'll also need to add a family payment method to the group before games can be shared among its members.
You can check if your family is created correctly here g.co/YourFamily
then, you need to manage your family also on Stadia from your main account:
There could be something else to do but make sure you followed all the steps on this page https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/9810862?hl=en#zippy=%2Cin-the-stadia-app%2Con-stadiacom
Let me know if after following those steps you are still not able to have your son playing on Stadia!

Force close the stadia App on gtvcc and try again. I get this and I only have my account.
