Whenever I turn my controller on and try to enter a linking code my controller no longer vibrates with each button press. Even if I complete the code, nothing happens. I've tried factory resetting by holding the assistant and screenshot buttons, that didn't help. I've tried holding the Y button as I turn the controller on, that didn't help.
I have not used this controller in a year, my network settings have definitely changed. I would like to reconnect it to my phone but I can't connect to my phone since the controller is unable to input a linking code. It will just blink orange.
Is Google able to send me a new one? This one cannot even vibrate for linking codes so I assume it's useless now.
@thegriffindude I was going to suggest hard resetting the controller but it looks like you already tried that and didn't help.
You said you haven't used the controller in a year, how long have you charged it since then? I would suggest try leaving the controller on a charger for a few more hours, then try pairing again.
Also below is the article for troubleshooting Stadia controller connection. Can you give it a look just in case there are steps you haven't done?

If you're still having trouble after trying the steps above, you can try contacting Stadia support for further troubleshooting or even get a replacement if needed

Hope that helps.
I've been trying to pair it for the last hour, it's been blinking orange every time I turn it on. I also get that first initial vibration when turning on, just nothing when trying to enter a linking code.
But sure, I will leave it on the charger and charge it up fully.
Let us know how it goes. Since you did a factory reset on the controller you will need to use the Stadia app to set it up again and the app uses Bluetooth to detect the controller and configure.
I let it charge all night and still got the same result!
I went to a support link someone sent and I waited for about an hour for someone to start the chat but no one answered...
@thegriffindude Sorry to hear you had to wait that long for support and no one answered. Were you given an option to start a phone call by any chance? I found that's usually the best way to reach support.
I apologize if I'm repeating what you've tried to do, but I just want to make sure we've exhaust every option. Can you take a look at the steps below and confirm you've tried them? If not, it might be worth to try:
If you're experiencing issues with your Stadia Controller, it can be helpful to perform a hardware reset.
When you factory reset your Stadia Controller, all Wi-Fi login information is removed from it.
Note: After you perform a factory reset, you'll need to set up a Wi-Fi connection again in the Stadia app to play wirelessly with your controller.
I got a hold of support! I went through what was happening and they said they would pass me off to a higher level of support. I decided it's too much work. I don't use Stadia that much anyways so I'm just giving up.
Thank you for your help though!
@thegriffindude Ah sorry to hear about that. Definitely not great to be passed around when you're contacting support. If you decide you want to give it another shot, please don't hesitate to reply back to this thread, we'll try again to help troubleshoot the issue.
Sorry to hear about this @thegriffindude. As @Ivan mentioned, I think a factory reset should fix the problem. Best of luck!
I think you missed the part where I already did the factory reset. "holding the assistant and screenshot buttons" is the factory reset.
My apologies
