I am playing Farming Simulator 22 on an android 4K TV at 1080p (Philips 4K Android TV, model 43PFL5704). My TV is connected to an ethernet cable.
I have a lot of lags although it seems to me that my internet parameters are within the standards, namely: 65 mbps / 32 ms latency without load and 90 ms with load / 11 mbps upload. My TV is connected with an ethernet cable. I do not understand where the problem can come from.
Hello @alouette401,
Latency seems anormal.
For e.g. I have up from 2 to 4ms latency. Speed seems good, maybe a stability problem.
What kind of ethernet cable are you using ? Is it coupled with BPL/CPL ?
That kind of thing :
Also, you mentionned Farming Simulator 22 : Did you try with another game (like the free ones) ? Does it also lag/freez ?
I apologize for taking a little time to respond. I have not done any testing with other games because I ceased my Pro subscription after the 30 day trial period. My ethernet cable is CAT.8. 4Gbps, 2000 MHz.
I installed chromecast with Google TV, connected via ethernet. I am using an 8BitDo SN30 Pro + controller in wifi. The result looks better than before, but it is too early to really draw an honest conclusion.
I just played Farming simulator 22 on my TV via a "Chromecast with TV" connected to a CAT.8 ethernet cable and using an 8BitDo SN30 Pro + controller in WiFi. After about 30 minutes of playing, my screen had frozen. I continue to hear the sound of the engine of the vehicle I was driving at the time of the frost. I have to exit the game and then Stadia and start over. So, the chromecast didn't fix my problem. I also tested my internet before starting and had the following results: 65 Mbps / PING 31ms without load and 84ms with load / 11 Mbps upload.
Hello @alouette401,
31 ms is huge for Stadia.
For e.g. I have 2-4 ms when using Stadia. Somethings wrong here. Are you using a VPN, a Firewall, or something like that ?
Another thing : If the game freez but the sound continue, maybe it's linked to the game itself. The stream from Stadia contains both video and audio. If it was a connectivity issue, you'll have either no sound and no video. Maybe you should report that incident to the game devs directly.
I don't use VPS or Firewall at all. Reading all these comments, I'm not the only one with this lag and freeze problem. I think the problem at least with the freezing is with the Farming Simulator app itself.

The "lag" problem you're describing. Does this happen when you load the game and spawn in? EG. everything really stutters, and the frame rate drops massively? If so, this is likely an issue with the game engine and not your connection. Seems like Giant's ancient game engine loads shaders and textures on the fly as soon as you spawn in, so basically it's loading the environment on the fly into memory. Seems like the Stadia hardware can't handle the load and lags and stutters. I've also seen reports of PC players on mid to low end hardware saying the same.
It's an issue I'm sure Giants know about but can't be bothered to fix, since they'd need to optimize the way the game engine works, and I guess that's too much like hard work.
Since patch 1.3 they introduced even more bugs and now the game full on crashes on Stadia after 5 minutes of play. Giants have a horrible, old game engine, that's way past it's sell by date and needs a massive overhaul, however they won't do it because Farm Sim is the cash cow that keeps on giving, and it's too much effort for them.
