LG / Nvidia shield 5.1 Audio stuttering

Jump to Best Response

Hello Stadia Community ,

When I start a game with 5.1 audio the audio starts to stutter and such.
If Stereo is forced enabled in the Stadia app the audio is fine however I would like to use the 5.1 audio option because I have a Logitech Z906 5.1 audio set.

Specifications:
TV: LGOLED55C*PLA
Device: Nvidia Shield Tube / Chromecast Google TV
Speakers: Logitech Z906 (5.1 audio set)

I spoke to the Google support but they could not help me.

What did I already tried:

  1. I unistalle the stadia app and reinstalled it
  2. Turned of the nvidia shield, speaker set, TV, Router / Modem
  3. Switched from Ethernet to WiFi (connection is stable says the Stadia app)
  4. Speedtest (150 megabit download / upload)
  5. Turned on a Netflix / Plex movie with 5.1 audio (everything worked fine)
  6. Talked to the Google support live chat (No solution)
  7. Tested with Nvidia Shield Tube and Chromecast Google TV (Both have the same issue)

I ran out of options so I was hoping you guys could help me to solve the problem ?

@Kenyen I've seen similar issues as yours, and most noticed the issue happening after they updated to the latest Stadia app. Do you remember exactly when the issue is happening? Some people tried to revert to the older version of Stadia app to fix the issue, but obviously that's not ideal solution. I don't really have any suggestion as of now other than that. I will keep you updated if I hear anything new.

It would be great if you send feedback about the issue through the Stadia app so the team is aware of the issue. The more occurrences reported, the higher the priority it will be for the team to work on.

Hey @Ivan

I can confirm that switching back to an older version of the APP solves the problem.

Hey @Ivan ,

I am not sure when it started but it's not that long ago, I never had any of these audio issues before and I am using stadia from day one.
I'll report the feedback in the stadia app and will try to revert back to a different version, maybe that will fix it !

Thanks for your reply !

Glad that it worked @Kenyen ! So I think we're starting to see a pattern and root cause here. Hopefully the next version will fix the issue.
